Disturbance at convenience store leads to charges
LEWISTOWN — Lewistown Police Department officers responded to a convenience store on North Juniata Street shortly after 12:14 a.m. on June 11 for a disturbance involving a large group of mostly juveniles, according to a press release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Thursday. Store employees reported the group was harassing customers and refused repeated requests to stop. Joel A. Rodriguez, 18, of Derry Township, argued with officers and was detained. A juvenile who attempted to approach Rodriguez became aggressive and was also detained. Rodriguez is being charged with corruption of minors. Several juveniles are being charged with curfew violations.
Woman charged after assault during supervised visit
LEWISTOWN — At 2:33 p.m. on June 11, Lewistown Police Department officers were dispatched to the 100 block of South Main Street for an alleged assault, according to a press release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Thursday. Alexis R. Williams, 29, of Derry Township, allegedly grabbed a visitation supervisor by the hair, pulled her to the floor and punched her in the back of the head after being told to stop disciplining her child. The victim was transported to the hospital for minor injuries. Williams was charged with simple assault.
Driver cited after striking parked vehicle
LEWISTOWN — Brenda L. Walck, 63, of Lewistown, was cited for accidents involving damage to unattended vehicles after admitting to hitting a vehicle on the 600 block of Valley Street in Lewistown at 3:10 p.m. on June 11and leaving without notifying the owner, according to a press release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Thursday. A witness reported a vehicle striking a parked car.
Traffic stop leads to DUI investigation
LEWISTOWN — Lewistown Police Department officers stopped a vehicle on Montgomery Avenue in Lewistown for a turn signal violation at 11:20 p.m. on June 11, according to a press release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Thursday. The driver, an unidentified 20-year-old man from Lewistown, showed signs of impairment from alcohol and marijuana. He admitted to smoking marijuana earlier and provided a breath sample above the legal limit. After field sobriety tests, he was arrested and a blood sample was obtained. Charges are pending toxicology results.
Traffic stop results in drug charges and warrant arrest
LEWISTOWN — At 4:47 p.m. on June 13, Lewistown Police Department officers stopped a vehicle on East Third Street in Lewistown after observing it pick up a passenger on Chestnut Street, according to a press release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Thursday. A passenger, Jason S. Gordon Sr., 49, of unknown address, appeared nervous and admitted to having marijuana. Officers found methamphetamine, digital scale, marijuana cigarette and bag of marijuana he attempted to discard. Gordon is charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a small amount of marijuana, police said. Another passenger was arrested on an active warrant.
Man charged after meth-related impairment complaint
LEWISTOWN — Kurtis D. Perschau, 49, of Lewistown, admitted to Lewistown Police Department officers that he ingested methamphetamine and repeatedly reached into his pockets despite commands to stop at 11:39 p.m. on June 13 when officers confronted him at a convenience store on North Juniata Street in Lewistown, according to a press release issued on Thursday. He was found with methamphetamine and paraphernalia. Perschau was transported home and charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and public drunkenness.
Man with active warrant taken into custody
LEWISTOWN — At 12:24 p.m. on June 14, Lewistown Police Department officers observed James S. Varner walking on Valley Street in Lewistown and confirmed he had an active bench warrant, according to a press release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Thursday. Varner was taken into custody without incident, evaluated at the hospital for a medical concern and then lodged in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility in Lewistown.
Domestic dispute leads to warrant arrest
LEWISTOWN — Lewistown Police Department officers responded to the first block of Valley Street in Lewistown for a domestic dispute around 3:56 p.m. on June 14, according to a press release issued by on Thursday. Nakisha K. Wilson, 37, of Lewistown, was found to have an active bench warrant and was lodged in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility in Lewistown.
Driver doing “donuts” arrested after attempting to flee
LEWISTOWN — A report of a man doing “donuts” in a church parking lot on West Fifth Street in Lewistown resulted in charges of evading arrest or detention on foot at 5:03 p.m. on June 14, according to a press release issued by the Lewistown Police Department. The driver, identified as Adam E. English, 31, of Lewistown, had an active bench warrant. When approached, English attempted to flee but was detained after a brief struggle. He was lodged in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility in Lewistown.
Drug paraphernalia found after complaint of ‘drug party’
LEWISTOWN — At 7:17 p.m. on June 15, Lewistown Police Department officers investigated a complaint of a “drug party” at a garage on Logan Street, according to a press release issued on Thursday. Items with fentanyl residue and paraphernalia used for distribution were found. A search warrant for the room of Levi T. Ryder, 30, of Lewistown, led to the seizure of additional paraphernalia and handwritten drug-related documents. Ryder was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
DUI investigation after disabled vehicle report
LEWISTOWN — Lewistown Police Department officers responded to an ice cream shop on South Walnut Street in Lewistown for a disabled vehicle at 11:51 p.m. on June 15, according to a press release issued on Thursday. The driver, John F. Geedy, 46, of McClure, showed signs of marijuana impairment and performed poorly on sobriety tests. A used marijuana pipe was found in the vehicle. Geedy was taken into custody for DUI; charges are pending toxicology results.
Driver charged after paraphernalia found during traffic stop
LEWISTOWN — At 11:40 a.m. on June 17, Lewistown Police Department officers stopped a vehicle on North Juniata Street in Lewistown after observing erratic driving, according to a press release issued on Thursday. The driver, Cory S. Knode, 42, of Huntingdon, showed signs of impairment but did not meet arrest thresholds for DUI. A used methamphetamine pipe was found in the vehicle. Knode, whose license was suspended for a prior DUI, is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and traffic offenses.
Man with seven warrants taken into custody
LEWISTOWN — Lewistown Police Department officers located John L. Kline Jr., 47, of Lewistown, who had seven active warrants, at 1:20 p.m. on June 17, according to a press release issued on Thursday. Kline was taken into custody without incident and lodged in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility in Lewistown.
Fast-food restaurant employee charged with theft
LEWISTOWN — At 1:24 p.m. on June 17, Lewistown Police Department officers received a theft complaint from a fast-food restaurant on South Main Street in Lewistown, according to a press release issued on Thursday. Employee Kayanna L. Millisock, 18, of Lewistown, was observed stealing $69 from a register on two dates. She admitted to the thefts and was charged with theft by unlawful taking.
