Fentanyl trafficking arrest

LEWISTOWN — The Lewistown Police Department stopped a vehicle on Route 322 in Derry Township at 7:26 p.m. on May 28, after observing traffic and equipment violations, including crossing fog lines and visible front-end damage, according to a release issued on Thursday. Inside were Bobbi L. Desousa, 52, of Warriors Mark, Pa., and Tykeem R. Jenkins, 28, of Philadelphia. Officers smelled marijuana, and Jenkins handed over a bag, the report said; a later search uncovered drug paraphernalia and 78 bags of Fentanyl. Desousa admitted she was paid to transport Jenkins, who intended to distribute the drugs. Both were jailed in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility in Lewistown and charged with possession with intent of delivering.

Lewistown man arrested on warrant at convenience store

LEWISTOWN — Richard P. Caddy Jr., 31, of Lewistown, was observed walking near a convenience store on North Juniata Street in Lewistown at 12:41 a.m. on May 29 when Lewistown Police Department officers knew he had an active domestic relations warrant, according to a release issued on Thursday. Caddy was taken into custody and lodged in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility in Lewistown.

Retail theft and attempted escape by Philadelphia man

LEWISTOWN — Lewistown Police Department officers responded to a reported theft at the wine and spirits shop on South Main Street in Lewistown at 1:10 p.m. on May 29 where a man stole a bottle of brandy and fled on a bicycle, according to a release issued on Thursday. Officers spotted Charles Martel Lissade, 25, of Philadelphia, and attempted to stop him, but he tried to escape through alleys and parking lots. He fell off his bike and ran before being apprehended behind a residence. The stolen bottle was recovered nearby, and he was cited for retail theft and evading police.

Passenger arrested on warrants during traffic stop

LEWISTOWN — Lewistown Police Department officers conducting traffic enforcement in the area of Valley Street at Pine Street in Lewistown stopped a vehicle with an expired registration at 8:48 p.m. on May 29, according to a release issued on Thursday. During the stop, passenger Kimberly R. Binner, 44, of Lewistown, was found to have active warrants from Dauphin and York counties for theft-related offenses. She was taken into custody and transported to the Mifflin County Correctional Facility in Lewistown, while the driver was cited for multiple traffic violations.

DUI arrest after driver found passed out in parking lot

LEWISTOWN — Lewistown Police Department officers responded to a Lewistown convenience store for a report of a man passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle, according to a release issued on Thursday. The 43-year-old driver from Derry Township, who was not identified, claimed he was sleeping, but officers observed signs of impairment and learned he had taken narcotic medication. After field sobriety testing, he was arrested for DUI and taken to the hospital for a blood draw. Charges are pending toxicology results.

Fight leads to stabbing charges for two Lewistown men

LEWISTOWN — A dispute involving Jonathon M. Reel, 23, of Lewistown, escalated after he confronted Preston S. Wilson, 18, of Lewistown, over a personal relationship at 12:44 p.m. on May 30, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Thursday. The altercation turned physically into a shared hallway, involving multiple people. Reel later realized he had been stabbed in the leg during the fight. Wilson admitted using a knife, stating he believed it was the only way to end the confrontation. Both men are being charged with simple assault.

Warrant arrest after traffic stop resistance

LEWISTOWN — During a traffic stop, Kimberly A. Rhodes, 43, of Lewistown, was identified as having an active domestic relations warrant at 12:48 a.m. on May 31, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Thursday. She refused to comply with officers’ commands and was physically removed from the vehicle before being taken into custody. She was jailed at the Mifflin County Correctional Facility in Lewistown, and the driver was cited for driving with a suspended license.

New Bloomfield man turns himself in on PFA warrant

LEWISTOWN — Charles D. Benner Jr., 57, of New Bloomfield, coordinated with police to turn himself in on a PFA violation warrant at 4:37 p.m. on June 1, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Thursday. Officers met him at the Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown barracks in Mifflintown took him into custody, and lodged him at the Mifflin County Correctional Facility in Lewistown.

Man wanted after domestic gun incident

LEWISTOWN — Curtis T. Williams, 42, of Lewistown, allegedly grabbed a female and discharged a firearm on himself during a domestic dispute before fleeing with the gun at 10:57 p.m. on June 1, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Thursday. He is prohibited from possessing a firearm due to prior convictions and later claimed he disposed of it, though it has not been recovered. Juvenile cited for curfew violation

LEWISTOWN — Lewistown Police Department officers encountered a 12-year-old walking in the roadway at 1:36 a.m. on June 2 in violation of curfew, according to a release issued on Thursday. The juvenile initially refused to identify themselves but was eventually identified and taken home. Citations were filed for curfew and related offenses.

Juveniles identified in retail theft attempt

LEWISTOWN — Convenience store employees in Lewistown reported two juveniles filling a backpack with fireworks and cookies before fleeing when staff intervened at 2:37 a.m. on June 2, according to a release issued on Thursday. The items, valued at about $60, were left behind. Surveillance footage helped identify the two 13-year-olds, who were later cited for retail theft.

Combative Lewistown man tased by police during drug arrest

LEWISTOWN — Lewistown Police Department officers contacted Stephen L. Flood III, 26, of Lewistown, in his apartment after reports he was passed out with drugs nearby at 9:40 a.m. on June 2, according to a release issued on Thursday. Drug paraphernalia and suspected controlled substances were found. Flood became combative, broke a glass pipe and refused commands. Officers used a Taser to subdue him before taking him into custody. He was charged with drug offenses and resisting arrest.

Minor crash on Montgomery Avenue due to tire failure

LEWISTOWN — Lewistown Police Department officers investigated a crash on South Dorcas Street in Lewistown where a vehicle suffered a tire failure at 12:04 p.m. on June 2, according to a release issued on Thursday. The driver lost control, causing the car to spin and lightly strike a bridge over Kish Creek. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

Juvenile assault investigation after punching another juvenile

LEWISTOWN — A 14-year-old male was charged after punching a 15-year-old female multiple times at 5:49 p.m. on June 2, breaking her nose, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Thursday. The incident stemmed from an argument. While officers investigated, Terry L. Hassinger, 52, of Milroy, caused a disturbance nearby and was cited. The juvenile also made threats toward officers, resulting in additional disorderly conduct charges.

Huntingdon man charged after lighting drug pipe

LEWISTOWN — Lewistown Police Department officers responded to remove William V. Cammon, 55, of Huntingdon, from a residence where he refused to leave at 1:57 a.m. on June 3, according to a release issued on Thursday. While gathering his belongings, he picked up a crack pipe and attempted to light it in front of officers. The pipe was seized, and he was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Child exploitation investigation assistance provided

LEWISTOWN — Lewistown Police Department officers assisted the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General in executing a search warrant related to a child pornography investigation at 6:30 a.m. on June 3, according to a release issued on Thursday. The suspect was not initially present but was taken into custody the following day.
