MILROY — The Milroy Fireman’s Annual Festival and Penny Bazaar runs through Saturday, from 5 to 10 p.m., bringing an easygoing summer evening of music, community and support for the Milroy Fire Co. No. 1.

Held at 190 College Ave. in Milroy, the festival gives families and neighbors a chance to gather, relax and enjoy time together while helping the volunteers who serve the area year-round.

Hillbilly Diesel is set to take the stage at 7 p.m. Saturday, adding a lively soundtrack. There will also be a food stand, brownie sundaes, lemonade, snow cones, games and RIP tickets, tractor and barrel rides.

Whether you come for the music, the fellowship or simply to show appreciation for local firefighters, the festival offers a fun, welcoming way to give back to the community.

It’s one of the things to do this weekend, here are some others:

The McAlisterville Community Yard Sale Trail is set for Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Follow the map to find the deals as the McAlisterville Community Alliance (MCA) is proud to help connect members of our community by organizing an official yard sale day and creating a community yard sale map. They have collected the addresses and details of participating sales and are sharing them so shoppers can easily plan their route and find all the best deals. Search McAlisterville Community Alliance on Facebook to see the Yard Sale Map.

Car wash and bake sale

The Paul W. Delauter Youth Center, 337 Washington Ave., Mifflintown, is hosting a car wash and bake sale on Saturday. Stop by from 8 a.m. to noon to get your vehicle washed and grab some delicious sweet treats. The cost is by donation.
