Maintenance projects in Juniata, Centre counties announced

MIFFLINTOWN — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has announced several maintenance projects in Juniata County for the week of June 8, including bridge work, roadway patching and pipe replacement activities.

A bridge maintenance and cleaning project remains underway on Route 2028 (Goodville Road) at the bridge spanning Dutchman Run approximately five miles east of Salem. A detour remains in place using routes 235, 333 and 2017 (Evendale Hill Road).

Patching work is scheduled on Route 3007 (Stouffer Road) in Turbett Township on June 8; Route 3004 (Tuscarora Road) in Turbett Township on June 9-10; and Route 333 between Route 75 in Turbett Township and Route 3002 (Main Street) in Thompsontown on June 11-12.

Pipe replacement and cleaning operations are planned June 8-12 on Route 3021 (McKinley Road) between Route 35 and Route 3014 (McCoysville Road). Flaggers and, at times, pilot vehicles may be used to direct traffic through work zones.

PennDOT also announced maintenance activities in neighboring Centre County during the same week.

Guide rail repairs are scheduled June 10-12 on Route 144 between Forge Road in Spring Township and Front Street in Milesburg Borough, as well as on Route 4007 (Moose Run Road/Thomas Hill Road) in Boggs Township.

Joint and crack sealing projects are planned on Route 26 in College Township, Route 3003 (Bernel Road) in Patton Township and Route 3005 (Fox Hill Road/Fox Hollow Road) between College and Benner townships.

Additional work includes patching on Route 26 in State College Borough, pipe replacement and cleaning along Route 26, Route 150 and Route 1010 in Centre County, shoulder maintenance on Route 350 and Route 3040, and vegetation management activities along Interstate 80, Route 144 and Route 150.

PennDOT said motorists should expect flaggers, lane restrictions and possible pilot vehicle operations in active work zones. All work is weather permitting and subject to change because of emergencies or other unforeseen circumstances.
