Madyson Reich crowned 2026-27 SUN Area Dairy Princess

MIFFLINBURG — Madyson Reich of Middleburg was crowned 2026-27 SUN (Snyder, Union, Northumberland and Montour Counties) Area Dairy Princess on Saturday, April 25 at Buffalo Valley Church of the Brethren in Mifflinburg.

Reich, daughter of Mark and Jessica Reich, helps to manage the herd and assist in milkings on her family’s dairy farm. She is majoring in agricultural education at Penn State. She was active in the Snyder County 4-H and Midd-West FFA program.

Reich was also the recipient of the Girl Scout Gold Award. At the coronation, she presented an informative speech about the impact of living on a dairy farm as well as how farms support the community. Additionally, she presented a skit presentation, “The Great Dairy Detective” as she looked for clues about milk, the health benefits of dairy products and how milk arrives at homes from dairy farms.

Anna Mabus, of Millmont, was crowned SUN Area Alternate Dairy Princesses. She is the daughter of Brian and Jennifer Mabus and a senior at Mifflinburg High School. Mabus is a cheerleader and active in track and field. She prepared a speech on how promoters in the Pennsylvania Dairy Promotion program can be a voice for the dairy farmers and dairy products, gain lifetime leadership skills and leave an impact on the community. Her skit presentation was sharing the life cycles of a cow.

As Reich and Mabus lead the team, Hunter Benfer will serve as dairy ambassador, Mariah Daubert and Emma Wray will serve as dairy maids and Karlee Daubert, Emmalyn Reich and Georgia Wray will serve as dairy misses. Together, the team will attend events with educational dairy activities, present in schools, speak at adult meetings and represent the local dairy farmers at different community events sharing the nutritional benefits of consuming dairy products and sharing the daily dairy farmer tasks and the care they provide to their animals each day.
