From staff reports
MIFFLINTOWN — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has announced its maintenance schedule for Juniata County for the week of June 29.
Bridge maintenance and cleaning will continue on Route 2028 (Goodville Road) at the bridge spanning Dutchman Run, about five miles east of Salem. A detour remains in place using routes 235, 333 and 2017 (Evendale Hill Road).
Joint and crack sealing is scheduled Monday through Thursday on Route 333 between Route 3010 (Lions Club Park Road) in Milford Township and Route 75 in Port Royal Borough, as well as between Route 75 in Milford Township and Colyer Street in Thompsontown Borough. Flaggers will provide traffic control during daylight hours, and a pilot vehicle may be used.
Pipe replacement and cleaning also are planned Monday through Thursday on Route 3030 (Spruce Hill Road) between Creek Road and Route 75 in Spruce Hill Township. Flaggers and, if necessary, a pilot vehicle will direct traffic through the work zone.
Motorists should remain behind pilot vehicles displaying a “Pilot Car Follow Me” sign and flashing yellow light and should not attempt to pass.
PennDOT said the work schedule is subject to change because of weather, emergencies or other unforeseen circumstances. Crews will not work Friday, July 3, in observance of the Independence Day holiday.
