The program featured remarks reflecting on Knudson’s commitment to public service, as well as prayers offered by members of the clergy. A performance of Taps was also included during the ceremony.

A memorial tree and plaque were dedicated outside the police station as a permanent tribute to Knudson’s service to the community. Borough officials said the memorial was made possible through the efforts of borough staff and community members.

First responders from agencies throughout Mifflin County attended the ceremony, standing alongside Knudson’s family in recognition of his contributions to public safety and local government.

Organizers described the event as both a tribute to Knudson’s service and a celebration of a life devoted to helping others. Attendees reflected on his commitment to the community, his faith and the relationships he built throughout his years of service.

The memorial tree and plaque will remain at the Lewistown Borough Police Station as a lasting reminder of Knudson’s contributions to the borough and the wider community.
