Calendar

The Sentinel offers nonprofit and other community organizations an opportunity to promote upcoming events for free in the community calendar for three days before the event. Events requiring reservations may be promoted for up to two weeks before the reservation deadline.

Events that require a purchase from a for-profit business, even if a donation is made to the organization, are not eligible for the calendar.

Please be brief and include only basic details. If possible, provide a phone number or email address to be published with contact information.

•Landlord workshop for property owners — 9 to 11 a.m., June 17, Mifflin County Annex building, 101 W. 3rd St., Lewistown. Workshop will include an overview of the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program (previously known as Section 8). Light refreshments included. •Kiwanis blueberry sale – pickup 4 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, June 23, MCJHS gym lot. Cost is $33 for a 10-pound box. Pay cash or check at pickup. To order, call (717) 247-6155 or message Kiwanis Club of Lewistown, PA on Facebook by June 16.

•Justin Henry Sunny Day 5K Run / 3K Walk — Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. Run/Walk departs the square in McVeytown at 8:30 a.m. All ages are welcome. Prizes and gifts awarded at the conclusion of the race. To register: www.justinhenryscholarship.com. Benefits student scholarships.

•Graceful Soles Shoe Bank — 9 a.m. to noon, Grace United Methodist Church, 101 Logan St., Lewistown. Children up to age 18 are given a free pair of shoes with verification of low income through medical assistance. Parent or guardian must accompany child.

•LHS Class of 1956 70th reunion — noon, Birch Hill Event Center, 1100 N. Pine St., Burnham. Open visitation 2:30 to 5 p.m.

•McCoy House — open 1 to 3 p.m., 17 N. Main St., Lewistown. 148th PA Medical Civil War Reenactors.

• Bingo — Doors open at 4 p.m. Bingo starts at 5 p.m., Lewistown Elks Lodge, 229 W. 3rd St., Lewistown. Rip tickets will be sold. Short order menu available for purchase.

• Captain Jack / Mount Union Area High School get-together — 6 p.m. at Downtown OIP.

•Outdoor Gospel concert — 6:30 p.m., United Methodist Church, 128 N. Orange St., Beavertown. Joe Bonson and Coffee Run. Bring chairs. Refreshments will follow concert. Concert will be held rain or shine.

•Dream Center Mifflin County grand opening — 5 p.m. ribbon cutting, 204 First St., Burnham. Meet the volunteers, tour the facility, explore class offerings, enjoy food sampling.
