Probation assist leads to arrest on Valley Street

LEWISTOWN — Lewistown Police Department officers assisted Mifflin County Probation after Dustin M. Stahl, 41, of Lewistown, failed to meet supervision requirements at 10:51 a.m. on May 21, according to a release issued on Thursday. A child was seen alone inside the home before a woman answered the door and confirmed Stahl was present. He was taken into custody on probation violations and a summary warrant and lodged in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility in Lewistown.

Valuable coins reported stolen from Lewistown home

LEWISTOWN — Lewistown Police Department officers are investigating an alleged theft where a resident reported several valuable coins missing from their Lewistown home at 11:02 a.m. on May 21, according to a release issued on Thursday. A suspect was named and the case remains under investigation.

Shirtless suspect charged in convenience store theft

Cc Surveillance video showed a shirtless man with tattoos taking energy drinks and a case of alcohol without paying at a convenience store on East Walnut Street in Lewistown at 12:05 p.m. on May 21, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Thursday. Officers identified him as Trever D. Armstrong, 31, and filed a retail theft citation.

E-bike rider injured after rear miss with passing vehicle

LEWISTOWN — An unidentified rider lost control of an e-bike on Banks Avenue in Lewistown when a vehicle passed closely at 3:08 p.m. on May 21, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Thursday. EMS was summoned for minor injuries and the bike was taken to the station for safekeeping.

Trespass suspect flees, caught after foot chase

LEWISTOWN — Coty L. Breon, 36, of unknown address, returned to a West Fifth Street home in Lewistown despite a no-trespass notice at 12:30 p.m. on May 22, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Thursday. Breon fled from officers, ran through traffic and into nearby streets, and was taken into custody after resisting. Police said multiple charges were filed, including resisting arrest and criminal trespass.

Driver Admits Drinking During DUI Stop

LEWISTOWN — During a DUI patrol, Lewistown Police Department officers stopped Christopher D. Knepp, 54, for a faulty turn signal at 11:27 p.m. on May 22, according to a release issued on Thursday. Police said Knepp exited the vehicle and admitted to drinking. He refused blood tests even after a search warrant was obtained. He was charged with DUI and related offenses, police said.

Lewistown woman charged with possession of drug paraphernalia

LEWISTOWN — While handling a dispute at 20 S. Main St. in Lewistown between two residents, Lewistown Police Department officers saw a glass marijuana pipe belonging to Brenda J. Varga, 72, of Lewistown. She was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Loaded magazine at convenience store tied to motorcycle crash

LEWISTOWN — A loaded magazine was found at a local convenience store on North Juniata Street in Lewistown shortly before officers responded to a report of a black male beating on a door on West Fifth Street at 3:32 a.m. on May 23, according to a report issued by the Lewistowon Thursday. A 16-year-old girl was located intoxicated nearby. The male later crashed a motorcycle in Granville Township and was found with a handgun missing its magazine, police said. The juvenile was cited for public drunkenness; GTPD is handling charges for the male.

Wallet theft at a local convenience store leads to charges

LEWISTOWN — A resident’s wallet was taken from a counter at a local convenience store at 1:50 p.m. on May 23, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Thursday. Surveillance video showed Angela N. Page, 45, of Burnham, picking it up, police said. She later returned but $60 and a work key card were missing. Officers recovered the key card sssssssssssssand Page was charged with theft of lost or mislaid property.

Sex offender accused of sending suggestive messages to juvenile LEWISTOWN — A 26-year-old resident, who is also a registered sex offender, was reported to have sent shirtless photos and sexually suggestive texts to a 17-year-old juvenile at 10:33 p.m. on May 24, according to a release issued on Thursday by the Lewistown Police Department. The case was forwarded to a criminal investigator.

Trump signs torn, notes left at homes

LEWISTOWN — Several Trump signs were torn in half on Pannebaker Avenue and Park Place in Lewistown at 8:09 a.m. on May 25, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department. Police said notes with political statements and a drawn symbol were left on doors. The vandalism occurred overnight and police are seeking information or video.

Fight in store parking lot leads to harassment charge

LEWISTOWN — Two women argued over property in a convenience store parking lot on North Juniata Street in Lewistown at 10:34 a.m. on May 26, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Thursday. Police say Kimberly J. Yeater, 50, of Lewistown, assaulted the other woman before fleeing. Video confirmed the incident and Yeater was cited for harassment. The other woman was not identified by police.

PFA violation leads to arrest warrant

LEWISTOWN — A woman waiting at a retail store, located at 33 E. Market St. in Lewistown at 1:27 p.m. on May 26, reported receiving messages from Charles D. Benner Jr., 57, despite a PFA, according to a release issued on Thursday. Officers confirmed numerous messages and obtained a warrant for indirect criminal contempt.

Traffic stop leads to DUI, drug charges

LEWISTOWN — After committing a red-light violation, officers stopped Bethanie Ann Taylor, 34, of Brown Township, who showed signs of impairment while traveling on Valley Street in Lewistown at 5:04 p.m. on May 26, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Thursday. A crack pipe, cocaine and paraphernalia were found. Charges are pending toxicology results.

Suspended driver found with brass knuckles

LEWISTOWN — A license-plate reader flagged a vehicle with a suspended registration at 9:32 a.m. on May 26, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Thursday. Officers stopped Sarah A. Hornbaker, 37, of Lewistown, and found she had no insurance, a suspended license and an expired inspection. She handed over brass knuckles when asked about weapons and was charged with prohibited offensive weapons and traffic offenses.
