Lewistown female arrested for DUI three times in past month
LEWISTOWN — A Lewistown Police Department officer patrolling East Hale Street in Lewistown near Burger King at 11:11 a.m. on April 23 observed a vehicle make a wide turn into the oncoming lane and nearly strike a curb, according to a release issued on Thursday. A brake light was also out on the vehicle. The driver, identified as Dawn M. Lovette, 71, of Lewistown, showed signs of impairment and admitted to taking prescribed narcotic medication. Field sobriety testing revealed numerous indicators of impairment, and Lovette was arrested for DUI. She was transported to the Lewistown Police Department, where blood was drawn by a law enforcement phlebotomist. Police said Lovette was released to another individual, and charges are pending toxicology results.
At 6:29 p.m. on April 28, another release said officers stopped Lovette on Dorcas Street after observing erratic driving, including swerving into oncoming traffic. Police said Lovette appeared lethargic and confused. Field sobriety testing showed signs of impairment, and Lovette — who had two prior DUI arrests in the past month — was taken into custody. Blood was drawn at the police department, and she was released to an associate pending toxicology results, police said.
Lewistown woman facing probation-related drug charges
LEWISTOWN — Lewistown Police Department officers responded to the Mifflin County Probation Office regarding Jasmine Raudabaugh, 30, of Lewistown, who was under probation supervision at 3:47 p.m. on April 23, according to a release issued on Thursday. Following a search of her residence that yielded methamphetamine and paraphernalia, Raudabaugh drove to the probation office. A consent search of her vehicle revealed a meth pipe, methamphetamine, prescription bottle containing narcotics with another person’s name and THC wax concentrate. Police said Raudabaugh was charged with possession of controlled substances and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Knife-brandishing incident on North Grand Street
LEWISTOWN — Lewistown Police Department officers responded to a disturbance involving siblings at a residence on the 100 block of North Grand Street in Lewistown at 11:49 p.m. on April 24, according to a release issued on Thursday. Cody A. Rejrat, 33, of Glen Burnie, Md., allegedly threatened another individual by brandishing a butcher knife, placing the victim in fear of bodily harm. Rejrat fled the scene prior to officers’ arrival. Police said charges were filed for simple assault by physical menace.
Child endangerment and drug charges on South Main Street
LEWISTOWN — Penelope G. Darerow, 21, of Lewistown, and Jason S. Gordon Jr., 18, address unknown, were both lodged in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility in Lewistown after an alleged altercation at 20 S. Main St., Lewistown, at 1:26 p.m. on April 26, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Thursday. Officers responded to the reported altercation and discovered seven people, including a toddler and a child under age 12, inside a small room filled with the odor of burnt marijuana. Gordon was seen holding a glass marijuana pipe, while Darerow admitted the pipe belonged to her and that she had cared for the toddler overnight. After Darerow became highly uncooperative, officers obtained a search warrant and located additional marijuana and paraphernalia. Darerow was lodged in MCCF and charged with endangering the welfare of children, corruption of minors, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police said Gordon was also lodged in MCCF and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
Wanted individual arrested on East Walnut Street in Lewistown
LEWISTOWN — Lewistown Police Department officers responded to a complaint on East Walnut Street alleging theft by James S. Varner, 39, address unknown, at 11:49 p.m. on April 27, according to a release issued on Thursday. Knowing Varner had two active warrants, officers located him hiding in a basement. During the arrest, Varner attempted to swallow medication and failed to comply with commands, requiring officers to intervene. He was taken into custody and later transported to the hospital for chest pain complaints before being lodged in Mifflin County Correctional Facility in Lewistown. The theft allegations were determined to be unfounded, police said.
Officers inspect residence allegedly struck by vehicle

LEWISTOWN — Lewistown Police Department officers investigated a report of a residence on Central Avenue being struck by a vehicle at 11:56 a.m. on April 27, according to a release issued on Thursday. Damage to the foundation was consistent with impact from a vehicle bumper, likely from a car using an adjacent church parking lot. The incident remains under investigation, police said.
Traffic stop leads to warrant arrest, charges for Lewistown woman
LEWISTOWN — A 22-year-old Lewistown woman found herself jailed in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility in Lewistown and faces charges include false identification to law enforcement, driving under suspension, and expired inspection, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Thursday. Officers stopped a vehicle on West Fifth Street in Lewistown at 4:27 p.m. on April 28 for an expired inspection and broken rear window and the driver initially provided false identification but was later identified as Adriana Velazquez, who had an active arrest warrant and a suspended license.
Bench warrant arrest on South Pine Street for area man
LEWISTOWN — A Lewistown Police Department narcotics investigator observed Bradley L. Rauch, 39, address unknown, walking on South Pine Street in Lewistown and recognized him as having an active bench warrant at 4:59 p.m. on April 28, according to a release issued on Thursday. Rauch was arrested by uniformed officers, and a used meth pipe was found during a search. He was lodged in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility in Lewistown and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.
Yeagertown woman arrested for drug possession, paraphernalia
LEWISTOWN — Lewistown Police Department officers contacted the driver of a vehicle on Logan Street after observing suspicious behavior at 5:28 p.m. on April 28, according to a release issued on Thursday. Diana L. Lujan, 63, of Yeagertown, was found to possess methamphetamine, used meth pipe and marijuana in her purse, police said, and she was charged with possession of controlled substances and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Lewistown man cited for public drunkenness near jail
LEWISTOWN — Larry J. Anderson, 45, of Lewistown, was transported to his residence and cited for public drunkenness after an incident near the Mifflin County Correctional Facility in Lewistown at 5:54 p.m. on April 28, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Thursday. Officers responded to a report of an intoxicated pedestrian near the jail, as Anderson was observed walking in the roadway and stepping in front of traffic, police said. A preliminary breath test indicated a level more than three times the legal driving limit, police said.
