THOMPSONTOWN — One person was injured after a building collapsed Wednesday morning in Juniata County.

According to the Thompsontown Volunteer Fire Company No. 8, crews were dispatched around 9:50 a.m. to Kauffman Hill Road for a reported building collapse with a person trapped inside.

Firefighters said crews arriving at the scene were able to free the victim from the collapsed structure and begin medical treatment.

The condition of the victim was not immediately available.

Officials said the cause of the collapse remains under investigation.
