Senior farmers market vouchers available in Mifflin, Juniata counties
LEWISTOWN — Mifflin-Juniata Regional Services will again partner with Pennsylvania’s Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program to provide eligible seniors with vouchers for fresh, locally grown produce from approved Pennsylvania farmers.
The program offers low-income seniors vouchers that can be used to purchase fresh, unprepared fruits, vegetables and herbs.
Voucher distribution events are scheduled for the following dates and locations:
• June 2, 9-11 a.m. — Lack-Tuscarora EMS Building, 9320 Route 75 South, East Waterford
• June 3, 2-4 p.m. — Juniata Valley YMCA, 105 First Ave., Burnham
• June 4, 9-11 a.m. — Milroy Senior Center, 283 Broad St., Milroy
• June 5, 8:30-10 a.m. — McAlisterville Senior Center, 158 Lions Den Drive, McAlisterville
• June 5, noon-3 p.m. — Four Seasons Senior Center, 56 Jam House Road, Mifflin
To qualify, seniors must be at least 60 years old by Dec. 31, 2026, and meet household income guidelines. Income limits are $29,526 for one person, $40,034 for two people, $50,542 for three people and $61,050 for four people.
Each eligible senior will receive five $5 vouchers totaling $25. Vouchers may only be redeemed once during the program year.
Officials said seniors living in nursing homes, convents or residential facilities where meals are provided are not eligible for the program.
Applications for vouchers also are available at local senior centers, the Mifflin-Juniata Regional Services main office in Yeagertown and online through Mifflin-Juniata Regional Services.
