State expands access to rebate program

From staff reports

HARRISBURG — The Pennsylvania Department of Revenue is now accepting applications for the Property Tax/Rent Rebate program and has added new multilingual resources to help more residents apply.

The program provides rebates to eligible seniors, widows and widowers, and people with disabilities for property taxes or rent paid in 2025.

New resources include a fully translated Spanish online application through myPATH and one-page tip sheets in seven languages, including Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese.

Last year, more than 513,000 Pennsylvanians received nearly $315 million in rebates through the program, according to the Shapiro administration.

Gov. Josh Shapiro expanded the program in 2023 by raising the maximum standard rebate to $1,000 and increasing income limits for both homeowners and renters.

More information and applications are available at pa.gov/ptrr.

Starting at $2.99/week.
