Officers find area man, arrest him for three active warrants
LEWISTOWN — Lewistown Police Department officers observed Richard P. Caddy Jr., 31, address unknown, on East Third Street in Lewistown at 12:08 a.m. on April 16 and arrested him for three active arrest warrants including a prothonotary warrant, domestic relations warrant and a summary public drunkenness warrant, according to a release issued on Thursday. Caddy initially was able to hide from the officer, the report said, but another officer located Caddy in an alley between East Third Street and Valley Street. Caddy was taken into custody without incident and lodged in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility in Lewistown on his warrants, the report said.
Centre Hall man charged with possession, driving under suspension
LEWISTOWN — Thomas W. Boozer, 40, of Centre Hall, was charged with possession of controlled substances, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving under suspension after a Lewistown Police Department narcotics investigator stopped him in the area of Knepp Avenue in Lewistown at 3:08 p.m. on April 16, according to a release issued on Thursday. The detective, who was in plain clothes operating an undercover vehicle, identified Boozer, the report said, and a records check showed that Boozer’s license was suspended. Boozer also had three daytime summary warrants and was taken into custody, the report said, and Boozer’s vehicle was towed and, during an inventory search, officers located two packages of methamphetamine in a cigarette pack. The vehicle was towed to the Lewistown Police Department and a search warrant was obtained for the vehicle, the report said, and several meth pipes were found inside the vehicle following a search.
Police investigating attempted break-in on Montgomery Avenue
LEWISTOWN — Lewistown Police Department officers responded to the 100 block of Montgomery Avenue in Lewistown for a report of someone’s back door being broken into at 2:51 a.m. on April 17, according to a release issued on Thursday. The sound of glass breaking at their back door woke up the resident, who saw someone reaching inside to unlock the door, the report said,
and the subject fled when they realized the resident was awake,
Lewistown man arrested for warrants, charged with assault and strangulation
LEWISTOWN — Lewistown Police Department officers were dispatched to 8 Edgewater Ave., Lewistown, after a female called 911 stating she needed help and then hung up at 10:59 a.m. on April 17, according to a release issued on Thursday. Officers observed Brett J. Pickrell, 36, of Lewistown, and a female known to officers enter the residence, the report said, and officers knew Pickrell had an active arrest warrant for failing to appear for a criminal case. Officers contacted the female, who had visible red marks on her neck, the report said, and she alleged Pickrell grabbed her by the throat preventing her from being able to breathe. The female also reported being physically abused by Pickrell over the past month, the report said, and officers obtained her consent to search the residence but could not locate Pickrell. Officers searched the outside of the residence and eventually located Pickrell hiding underneath a set of steps, the report said, Pickrell was taken into custody. He had a minor laceration on his ear and requested medical evaluation, the report said, and Pickrell was medically cleared at the hospital then lodged in Mifflin County Correctional Facility in Lewistown on his warrants. Pickrell was charged with aggravated assault, strangulation, simple assault and evading arrest or detention on foot, the report said.
Police respond to robbery at Reedsville Creamery
LEWISTOWN — At 8:06 p.m. on April 18, Lewistown Police Department officers responded to 131 South Plaza Drive in Lewistown (Reedsville Creamery self-serve stand) for a report of a male wearing a black ski mask with his hands in the drawer area and money “flying all over,” according to a release issued on Thursday. Officers responded within three minutes but could not locate the suspect, the report said, and officers had contact with the owner of the business who provided video. A white male was observed entering the business with his face partially covered and using a tool to remove cash from a safe, the report said. On April 19, officers interviewed a suspect who was lodged in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility in Lewistown on a separate criminal charge. Investigating officers are waiting on additional video from the retail store.
Lewistown woman charged with corruption of minors, possession
LEWISTOWN — Aliza H.M. Coughlin, 18, of Lewistown, was charged with corruption of minors, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana after Lewistown Police Department officers responded to the 100 block of South Main Street in Lewistown at 6:08 p.m. on April 20 for a report of juveniles smoking marijuana, according to a release issued on Thursday. Officers contacted two juveniles who were ages 14 and 17, the report said, and officers detected an odor of marijuana. Coughlin admitted to possessing marijuana and paraphernalia, the report said, and the juveniles reported smoking marijuana that was provided by Coughlin.
Lewistown man cited for driving with DUI suspended license
LEWISTOWN — Dominique Xavier Neidig, 32, of Lewistown, was cited for driving with a DUI suspended license after a Lewistown Police Department narcotics investigator observed him operating a vehicle at 3:34 p.m. on April 22, according to a release issued on Thursday.
Officers knew that Neidig had a prothonotary warrant for his arrest as well as summary traffic warrants, the report said, and Neidig left the Nittany Minit Mart, 403 E. Walnut St., Lewistown. Uniformed officers stopped him on the 100 block of Pannebaker Avenue, the report said.
Lewistown man jailed for strangulation after domestic dispute
LEWISTOWN — A 36-year-old Lewistown man was jailed for strangulation and lodged in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility in Lewistown after a domestic dispute on the 300 block of Logan Street in Lewistown at 10:24 p.m. on April 22, according to a release issued on Thursday. A bystander reported that a male, eventually identified as Benjamin S. Fultz, ran back into the apartment threatening to harm themselves and the caller heard a “pop” sound, the report said, and officers spoke with a female had been arguing with Fultz about leaving to stay with a relative. Fultz was drinking alcohol and he told officers he ingested marijuana, the report said, and Fultz began squeezing the female’s neck during the argument which caused her to have difficulty breathing. The female sent two young children to summon help from a neighbor, the report said, and officers observed red marks on the female’s neck. Fultz denied grabbing her throat, the report said, and Fultz was charged with strangulation and jailed pending his arraignment. Officers observed that Fultz, the female and three children under 9-years-old were living in squalor with the apartment covered in dog urine and feces, an accompanying overbearing odor from the excrement, and a large amount of clutter filling the living space, the report said. A Childline report was made regarding the living conditions inside.
