Area man cited for public drunkenness
LEWISTOWN — An 80-year-old Derry Township man was cited for public drunkenness after becoming intoxicated and falling in the roadway on the 100 block of South Main Street in Lewistown, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Friday. At 4:26 p.m. on Feb. 6, police were dispatched to the area where they found Clifford H. Peffer Jr. to be highly intoxicated from consuming alcohol and he was transported by ambulance to the hospital, the report said.
Youth facing theft charge
LEWISTOWN — Lewistown Police Department officers charged a 13-year-old Lewistown child with theft after investigating the report of a stolen electric bicycle that was removed from a residence on the first block of Chestnut Street in Lewistown at 6:29 p.m. on Feb. 6, according to a report issued on Friday. On Feb. 7, officers located surveillance video of a youth taking the bicycle and identified him, the report said. Officers spoke with the child’s mother, who was wearing the same clothing as he was when he stole the electric bicycle and admitted to being the person in surveillance videos, the report said. The teen claimed the bike was left on the 300 block of Logan Street at a friend’s house, the report said, but the bicycle could not be located.
Lewistown woman faces drug possession charge
LEWISTOWN — Jocelyn M. Tabb, 22, of Lewistown, was charged for possession of a small amount of marijuana after a routine police stop at 8:50 p.m. on Feb. 6 by the Lewistown Police Department, according to a release issued on Friday. Tabb was traveling on Depot Street in Lewistown when she was stopped by Lewistown Police Department officers for failing to use a turn signal, the report said. Officers smelled a strong odor of marijuana in the vehicle and neither of the two occupants had a medical marijuana card, the report said, and the passenger, Tabb, reported smoking marijuana earlier. Officers eventually searched the vehicle and found a small amount of marijuana and a marijuana grinder in a bag in the vehicle that also contained identification for Tabb, the report said.
Lewistown woman picked up on warrant
LEWISTOWN — A 45-year-old Lewistown woman was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Mifflin County Correctional Facility in Lewistown for an active warrant through the prothonotary’s office at 11:37 p.m. on Feb. 6, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Friday. Amy J. Packer was walking through the parking lot of the Nittany MinitMart, located at 403 E. Walnut St., Lewistown, when officers saw her, the report said.
Local man picked up on warrant
LEWISTOWN — Michael L. Karschner, 43, of Lewistown, was arrested by Lewistown Police Department officers at 12:52 a.m. on Feb. 7 for an active prothonotary warrant and was transported to the Mifflin County Correctional Facility in Lewistown, according to a release issued on Friday. Officers were patrolling on the 200 block of Warren Alley in Lewistown when they observed a male trying to conceal his face with his hand as officers drove past, the report said, and they recognized the male as Karschner.
