Cat adoption event hopes to find fur-ever homes

REEDSVILLE — Diane Adair hopes a makeshift coffee house will lead to some much-needed funding as well as some equally important adoptions from an exploding feline population.

“We’re hoping to generate money for supplies and other resources and adopt some cats,” said Adair, who serves as the cat coordinator for Rescue Our Furry Friends (ROFF).

Come meet nearly two dozen adoptable cats and kittens at the first-ever ROFF Cattery Coffee Shop on Sunday, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at 8 Applewood Drive, Reedville.

Bring a book, friends, puzzle, crafts or just yourself and enjoy a chill environment surrounded by kitties, Adair promised.

“If you’re looking to adopt, this is a great event,” she added. “Kids can come in and interact with the cats. They can read and color, while adults can drink coffee. It will be a calm atmosphere to meet adoptable cats.”

Of any age, as ROFF has more than 25 kittens and cats who are ready to find their fur-ever homes. All have been tested and vaccinated.

There will be coffee, hot chocolate, baked goods and more available for purchase on Sunday at the event, to be held at Dixie’s Delight Dog Grooming Salon.

Admission is $5 for an adult with a child and $10 for a family.

Applications can be done on site, with personal and veterinarian references requested. The adoption fee is $30, Adair said.
