From staff reports

LEWISTOWN — The summer months bring a host of opportunities to celebrate community and creativity, with music often taking center stage.

Few events capture the collective spirit of our town quite like the annual performances that weave together tradition, talent, and local pride.

The Lewistown Community Band presents its annual Let Freedom Ring Concert at 7 p.m. on June 28, in front of the Embassy Theater. This event’s rain date is set for 7 p.m. on June 29.

The all-volunteer band has been working for several months to prepare this year’s concert of familiar marches, patriotic tunes, pop medleys and classic favorites. The band will be joined by Miss Stephanie’s School of Dance Group as they perform the well-known “Singing in the Rain.”

The Lewistown Community Band is excited to debut an original musical composition by local musician and composer, Philip Loewen.

Monument Square is a musical tribute to our town’s beloved Monument. Since 1906 the monument has stood as a memorial to all in our county who have served this nation. Later in the concert, the Lewistown Community Choir will perform along with the band as they recognize all the local servicemen and women along with veterans in the audience with their individual branch’s songs.

Join the band in an early salute to our nation’s birthday. Bring a lawn chair and a small flag.

Be prepared to sing along and enjoy the festivities.

Also, a free will donation will be collected.

Starting at $2.99/week.
