MIDDLEBURG -- A 45-year-old man was sentenced to 5 to 10 years in a state correctional facility on charges of possession with intent to deliver cocaine.
Snyder County District Attorney Heath W. Brosius announced that Jeffrey Brice Snyder was sentenced by President Judge Lori Hackenberg on Wednesday.
Snyder pleaded guilty to possession with intent to deliver cocaine after a 2023 arrest where he was found passed out inside a rental vehicle with 21.6 grams of cocaine in his possession.
The report says Snyder was driving a rented Jeep Gladiator with Florida plates during the incident. Police responded to a call about a vehicle parked along the roadway with the operator slumped over the steering wheel. "The estimated street value of the cocaine in his possession is between $3,500 and $4,000" said Brosius.
During the sentencing hearing on Wednesday, Snyder apologized for committing the crime.
"I am grateful to the Pennsylvania State Police, Snyder County Adult Probation, and the County Detective for their work on this case" said Brosius. He continued "Their professionalism and carefulness in investigating, documenting, and helping to prosecute this criminal have paid off with a local drug dealer getting a state prison sentence."
Snyder is facing a federal indictment for similar charges out of Union County and is awaiting sentencing on his federal charges. Sentencing on his federal case is expected to happen sometime in June 2025.
