First Bakers UMC to host Bible study
McCLURE — First Bakers United Methodist Church will host a Bible study every Wednesday at 7 p.m. The church will also host a youth group for individuals under age 18 on the first Thursday of each month, except July.

COB Churches to host community worship service
LEWISTOWN — Several area Church of the Brethren churches will host a special community service “The Shelter of God” on Sunday, May 18 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Kish Park green pavilion. The event will celebrate the shelter God provides as well as a call to action to support the mission and ministry of the local shelter. There will be a worship service complete with music, scripture, message and a time for fellowship and light refreshments afterwards. Guest speaker will be Jane Neff, Executive Director of Shelter Service, Inc. Neff will discuss the services offered by the shelter while also providing an update on the dire financial need that exists in order to continue services. A love offering will be collected to benefit Shelter Service, Inc.
HHHO food giveaway
BEAVERTOWN — Helping Hands, Helping Others, Inc. will be holding a food giveaway on Tuesday, May 20 beginning at 10 a.m. at Beaver Lutheran Church, Rte. 522 at the west end of Beavertown. HHHO is not government funded. There are no income limits. HHHO is a 501-C3 non-profit. All donations are appreciated and can be sent to P.O. Box 151, Beavertown.
Music program at Maple Grove Mennonite Church
BELLEVILLE — A special music program will be presented during worship on Sunday, May 25 at 10:30 a.m. at Maple Grove Mennonite Church in Belleville. Mayard Yoder along with his wife, Karen, and family from Wooster, Ohio will sing, accompanied by guitar, bass and keyboard. Mayard is a native of the Belleville community. He is the son of the late Joe W. and Lydia Yoder. The public is invited to the service.
Special speaker at Bunkertown Brethren Church
McALISTERVILLE — Christian evangelist Dan Shayesteh, who gained notoriety for his conversion from a radical Muslim to Christianity, will be at Bunkertown Brethren Church, 52 Bunkertown Rd., McAlisterville, Sunday, June 1. He will share a message at 9 a.m. and will share his testimony at 10:30 a.m.
VBS at First Baptist Church, Mifflintown
MIFFLINTOWN — Vacation Bible School at First Baptist Church, Rte. 35, one mile north of Mifflintown, will be Sunday, June 8 to Thursday, June 12 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. each evening. Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. outside the FMC on Sunday evening. Doors open at 5:55 p.m. each night.
