‘Murder on the Monkey Express’ dinner show set for May 8-10
RICHFIELD — The Richfield Life Ministries will host a fun-filled weekend of food and comedic relief with the presentation of “Murder on the Money Express.”
For nearly 20 years, the Richfield Life Ministries has raised money through dinner shows, with the proceeds going towards helping cover costs for missions trips; however, each year, some of the money is set aside to go towards the next year’s play.
“We believe that God has given us the talents and gifts to put on these shows and make people laugh,” said Joel Snyder, the director/producer of the annual dinner show. “We want to encourage people to come to the church and share God in a positive way.”
Snyder said that this year’s play will feature members from the church ranging from their teen years to at least 60 years old.
“The people that do this really enjoy doing it, and you can definitely see that while they are on stage,” shared Snyder.
Each year, the production is lighthearted and not as serious in order to make the audience laugh and be entertained.
According to a press release sent out by Richfield Life Ministries, in “Murder on the Monkey Express”, vacationer Holly Hampton recounts the unbelievable story of her journey across a train, a cruise ship, and even a plane, before landing herself in the interrogation room of a top-secret international organization. Everywhere she goes, chaos follows, and unfortunately-murder…monkey murder, to be exact.
Holly is the prime suspect and throughout the show clues unravel, primate poisonings are uncovered, and secrets from Holly’s forgotten past emerge.
The show is described as a “zany, hilarious mystery” that is more comedy than mystery, and packed with outrageous characters and “side-splitting moments.”
Performance dates are May 8 and 9 at 6:30 p.m., May 10 at 2 p.m., and May 11 at 5 p.m.
