Calendar
The Sentinel offers nonprofit and other community organizations an opportunity to promote upcoming events for free in the community calendar for three days before the event. Events requiring reservations may be promoted for up to two weeks before the reservation deadline.
Events that require a purchase from a for-profit business, even if a donation is made to the organization, are not eligible for the calendar.

• Free garden to table workshop — 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., April 15, Body and Soul Community Center, Strodes Mills. Workshop highlights planting early spring crops, best practices for transplanting vegetables in the garden, open garden discussions and a transplant sharing time. Bring transplants to share. • Juniata County Historical Society spring meeting and dinner — 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 23, Walker Grange, Mexico. Speaker: Darwin Seiler, Friends of the Monterey Pass Battlefield Museum. Tickets are available by visiting the Juniata County Historical Society’s Archives, located below the Juniata County Library, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday or 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, or by calling (717) 436-5152. A roast chicken dinner will be served. Deadline for tickets is Wednesday, April 16.

Tickets are available at the door, $10 for adults, $8 for youth ages 5-10 and children under age 5 are free with a paying adult.
