Lewistown man lodged in
jail after stalking incident
LEWISTOWN — A 23-year-old Lewistown man was lodged in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility in Lewistown where he was charged with stalking, terroristic threats, simple assault by physical menace, harassment and disorderly conduct, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Friday. At 3:24 p.m. on March 1, officers were investigating a stalking complaint, the report said. Police said a male victim was just released from jail, relating to an assault. Chase Mitchell observed the male victim leaving a residence on Marble Street and parked his vehicle ahead of the victim, the report said. Mitchell is related to the victim and the victim knew Mitchell was upset about the assault so the victim backed up on the one-way road and drove down an alley in an attempt to avoid Mitchell, police said. Mitchell continued to follow the victim aggressively to the Nittany Minit Mart, located at 403 E. Walnut St., Lewistown, where Mitchell exited his vehicle and began pounding on the vehicle windows threatening to assault the victim, the report said. Mitchell fled from the area when the victim called 911, but officers located him in a nearby parking lot, the report said. Officers spoke with several people involved and informed Mitchell that he would receive criminal charges in the mail, the report said. Officers escorted the victim to a residence on Hummingbird Lane, the report said. During this time, Mitchell began following the marked police car and the victim’s car, and he pulled into a residence and was acting aggressively when he was confronted by officers, the report said. Mitchell refused to leave and was placed under arrest, police said.
Area man lodged in jail on drug, drunkenness charges
LEWISTOWN — Lewistown Police Department officers were dispatched to South Wayne Street in Lewistown for a complaint about a suspicious male wearing a red jacket lurking around back yards on the 300 block of South Wayne Street at 2:54 p.m. on March 2, according to a release issued on Friday. A resident said they confronted the male about why he was in their backyard and the male apologized saying he was at the wrong house, police said. Police said this happened at two separate residences within an hour time frame. Officers set up surveillance and observed Nathan Aaron Goss, 47, no address listed, approach the front door of the house where complaints about drug activity were made around 3:39 p.m. An officer confronted Goss as he began walking away about why he was trespassing, police said. Goss retrieved his identification from his pocket and a straw with drug residue fell out of his pocket, the report said. A female exited the nearby residence and appeared to be distracting officers, the report said. Goss threw a crack pipe into nearby landscaping then later threw two baggies of crack cocaine onto the ground, the report said. Police said Goss, who appeared to be publicly intoxicated from suspected drug consumption, was taken into custody and lodged in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility in Lewistown, police said. During that time, Goss began showing signs of an overdose and admitted to consuming non-prescribed prescription medication, police said. Goss was charged with drug and drug paraphernalia possession, tampering with or fabricating physical evidence and public drunkenness, the report said.
Police seeking information on man who stole decorations
LEWISTOWN — The Lewistown Police Department is encouraging anyone with information about a white male stealing St. Patrick’s Day decorations from a planter located on the first block of North Dorcas Street in Lewistown during the evening hours of Feb. 28 to call them at (717) 248-6716, according to a release issued on Friday. Surveillance video was obtained depicting a white male removing the items from the planter.

arrested along Kish Creek
LEWISTOWN — Lewistown Police Department officers received a request to assist a Waterways Conservation Officer along the Kish Creek on the 400 block of East Walnut Street in Lewistown at 3:23 p.m. on March 3, according to a release issued on Friday. Police said Jesse Kuhns, 34, no address listed, had a probation warrant and was taken into custody, while Luis Ramos-Lugo, 31, of McAlisterville, was also present and he also had an active arrest warrant. Both subjects were taken into custody without incident, the report said.
Area man jailed for warrant, other charges from incident
LEWISTOWN — Christopher Gahagan Sr., 56, no address listed, was lodged in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility in Lewistown for an active warrant and additional charges were filed for drug and paraphernalia possession, resisting arrest and evading arrest or detention on foot after an incident at 8:54 a.m. on March 4, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Friday. Officers observed Gahagan walking on the 400 block of East Walnut Street and advised him of a warrant, police said. Gahagan was prevented from disposing of his property as officers tried to take him into custody, the report said. Gahagan refused to comply and began walking away, the report said. The officer deployed a taser and chased Gahagan on foot into the backyard of a residence where he was eventually taken to the ground, the report said. Once handcuffed, officers found Gahagan had methamphetamine underneath him and a meth pipe in his pocket, the report said. In a related incident around 10:05 p.m. on Feb. 28, officers received a trespassing complaint at 288 W. Fifth St, police said. The property owner recently evicted the residents, changed locks, and posted the residence with no trespassing signs, police said. The maintenance person found several people and drug paraphernalia inside the residence, police said. These subjects fled out a back door, and officers found bags that contained drugs and names of subjects, including Gahagan, police said.
Derry Township man taken into custody for six warrants
LEWISTOWN — Justin Henry Shirk, 41, of Derry Township, was taken into custody by Lewistown Police Department officers on 3:20 p.m. on March 4, for six daytime summary warrants, according to a release issued on Friday. Officers observed Shirk sitting in a vehicle at the Nittany Minit Mart, located at 403 E. Walnut St., Lewistown, police said. Police said Shirk was found to be in possession of methamphetamine. Charges are forthcoming for drug possession, police said.
Lewistown man arrested for felony warrant, other charges
LEWISTOWN — Lewistown Police Department officers responded to a residence on the 200 block of West Fifth Street in Lewistown at 2:55 a.m. on March 6 for a domestic dispute, according to a release issued on Friday. Officers were advised that Oliver Campbell-King, 31, of Lewistown, left the residence prior to police arrival, the report said. Officers located Campbell, who had an active felony warrant for drug delivery, at a gas station at 113 N. Juniata St., Lewistown, the report said. Campbell was advised of the warrant and he resisted arrest by pushing and pulling on officers, the report said. Campbell was screaming for help in the public location and he dropped to his knees when officers tried to place him into a vehicle, police said. Campbell was charged with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct, police said.
Drug, paraphernalia possession charges filed against teenager
MIFFLINTOWN — Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown troopers filed charges against an unidentified 19-year-old male from Indiana, Pa., after an investigation at 8:25 a.m. on March 6 along Route 22 West in Fermanagh Township, according to a Public Information Release Report issued on Friday. A 2023 White Honda Civic was involved in the traffic stop, which was initiated by troopers due to a violation of the vehicle code, the report said. Charges were filed from district court.
Mifflintown man suspected of driving under influence
MIFFLINTOWN — An unidentified 69-year-old Mifflintown man was suspected of driving under the influence by Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown troopers after a traffic stop along Route 22 West in Fermanagh Township at 12:28 a.m. on March 7, according to a Public Information Release Report issued on Saturday. The male, who was in a 2003 blue Jeep, was contacted by troopers about a violation of the vehicle code, police said. The case is currently awaiting blood results, the report said.

BEAVER SPRINGS — The Pennsylvania State Police at Selinsgrove are investigating the alleged assault of an indecent assault of an unidentified 11-year-old female from Center Township at 1:03 p.m. on March 4, according to a Public Information Release Report issued on Friday. The assault reportedly took place on Spring Street in Spring Township, the report said.

MIDDLEBURG — The Pennsylvania State Police at Selinsgrove are investigating harassment on social media of an unidentified 17-year-old male from Lorian Drive in Penn Township between 12:01 a.m. on Feb. 25 and 8:03 a.m. on Feb. 27, according to a Public Information Release Report issued on Friday.
