First Bakers UMC to host Bible study

McCLURE — First Bakers United Methodist Church will host a Bible study every Wednesday at 7 p.m. The church will also host a youth group for individuals under age 18 on the first Thursday of each month, except July.

The 4th Annual Toilet Paper Bowl of Caring collection is coming to a close. This year Trinity Lutheran Church, Lost Creek Presbyterian Church, East Salem Community Church and Otterbein Global Methodist Church are teaming up. Our combined goal is now 5,000 single rolls since we have surpassed our goal of 3,000. Please bring all donations to participating churches by Feb. 9 (Super Bowl Sunday).

HHHO food giveaway

BEAVERTOWN — Helping Hands, Helping Others, Inc. will be holding a food giveaway on Tuesday Feb. 18 beginning at 10 a.m. at the rear of Beaver Lutheran Church, Route 522 at the west end of Beavertown. Because of the cold weather, food will be distributed directly into the cars. HHHO is not government funded. There are no income limits. HHHO is a 501-C3 non-profit. GriefShare at Allensville Mennonite Church

BELLEVILLE — Allensville Mennonite Church is holding a GriefShare program on Sundays from 3:30 to 5 p.m. The program began Jan. 12 and runs to April 6. McAlisterville Ministerium Worship Series

McALISTERVILLE — The McAlisterville Ministerium invites you to join them for their 2025 Lenten Worship Series “Parables of the Last Week.” All services begin at 7 p.m.

• March 5 — Trinity Lutheran, Ray Bailor (Shade Mountain UM Charge) will talk on the theme, “Jesus Establishes His Authority.” This service will include the Rite of the Ashes and Holy Communion.

• March 9 — Lost Creek Presbyterian, Bill McNeal (Browns GM) speaks on “The Parable of the Two Sons.”

• March 16 — Browns Global Methodist, Karen Ward (Trinity Lutheran) speaks on “The Parable of the Wicked Tenants.”

• March 23 — Lost Creek Mennonite, Terry Smith (Free Spring COB) speaks on “The Parable of the Wedding Feast.”

• March 30 — Free Spring Church of the Brethren, Dave Gingrich (Delaware Mennonite) speaks on “The Parable of the Ten Bridesmaids.”

• April 6 — Otterbein Global Methodist, Graham Fowler (Lost Creek Presbyterian) speaks on “The parable of the Loaned Money.”

• April 13 — Delaware Mennonite, Chad Weaver (Lost Creek Mennonite) speaks on “The Final Judgment.”

This year our offerings will go to Mennonite Disaster Service to be divided between local and national needs. For anyone who is interested in volunteering, MDS can use your skills either nationally or locally. When writing checks, please make them out to McAlisterville Ministerium.
