McVEYTOWN — A new business has recently opened their doors in McVeytown to bring interested customers the best all natural, handmade skin care products

Jacks Mountain Soap Shoppe was named after Jacks Mountain Road, the road that leads to owner Sharon Dirks’ beautiful hometown of Belleville.

Located at 82 Schoolhouse Road in McVeytown, Dirks, with help from her husband and employees, offers a variety of products that are made all natural.

This journey began in 2014, when Sharon and a friend decided to make homemade soap in their own kitchen. After hours of hard work, they succeeded.

“I was curious to see if this product could alleviate my son’s skin problems,” explained Dirks. “Noticing the difference it made for my family, I was compelled to give it a try. After the first time, there was no turning back; the luxurious feel was undeniable.”

Since then, Dirks has set off on the path of growing her business and now sells products to customers across the U.S. and Canada.

At first, Dirks created bar soaps, bath bombs, and lip balms, but has since added a number of additional products including sugar scrubs, bath salts, shower oils, deodorant, facial care, spa gift sets, and even pet shampoo!

“I love the cleanliness it provides and the fact that each ingredient is not only pronounceable but also leaves you feeling squeaky clean,” shared Dirks.

The Soap Shoppe is open Monday through Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., Saturday by appointment only and is closed on Thursdays and Sundays, as well as major holidays.

Jack’s Mountain Soaps can be reached (717) 953-7103 or on Facebook or Instagram.

Starting at $2.99/week.
