Fire consumes house in Allensville

ALLENSVILLE — Local Fire Stations received a 911 call at approximately 11:45 a.m. late Friday morning, reporting a house fire.

Responding stations included Allensville, Belleville, Newton Wayne, Reedsville, Milroy, Burnham, Yeagertown, Junction, Granville, West Granville, McVeytown, Big Valley EMS, and FAME EMS.

On scene it was determined the fire was consuming the roof of the structure, which later resulted in a total loss.

After three hours of hard work, the fire was contained and extinguished at approximately 2:40 p.m.

Fire Chief in charge, Lynn Flemming said the suspected cause of the fire is a wood stove and chimney.

Flemming added that the American Red Cross has been notified and four residents were displaced.

However, Flemming stated that no residents were injured to his knowledge.
