Man cited for PFA violation
RICHFIELD -- On Tuesday, Oct 1, Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown received a walk-in complaint for a protection from abuse order violation.
According to the report, a 57-year-old Richfield woman notified officers that a 56-year-old Mifflintown man had violated the order around 3:30 p.m. Police did not provide the name for the man cited.
Victim of Marketplace scam out $1K
MIFFLINTOWN -- A 38-year-old Mexico, Pa. woman reported being the victim of a Facebook Marketplace scam in which she had paid $1,000 to rent a property.
According to the report, filed by Pennsylvania State Police, on Thursday, Oct. 17, the victim sent the money through Paypal and the defendant set a date to do a walk through of the property.
The victim related that on the date and time they scheduled she found the house to be for sale by a local realtor. The report says the unknown defendant then stopped communicating with the victim.
Information sought on trespasser
PORT ROYAL -- According to a report Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown responded to a trespassing report at about 11:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9 on Burd Hollow Road, Beale Township.
The report says the unnamed person fled the scene when officers arrived. The individual was reported as wearing a white T-shirt and dark colored gym shorts. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Lewistown Barracks at (717) 320-1010
No injuries sustained in Friday crash
MILROY -- Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown responded to a one-vehicle accident on Friday, Oct 25.
According to the report, Zhaad White, 19, of Altoona was driving a 2010 Toyota Camry on U.S Highway 322 east, Armagh Township, and failed to negotiate a left-hand curve in the roadway, striking a runaway truck ramp causing disabling damage to the vehicle. Police said White was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and remained uninjured.
