Penn State Extension tree and small fruit production webinar

UNIVERSITY PARK -- Penn State Extension is offering a webinar, "Living on a Few Acres: Tree and Small Fruit Production," May 9 from 6-8 p.m.

This session is designed for the beginning producer or homesteader or for those looking to become more self-sufficient in producing tree fruit or small fruit. Participants will learn the basics of tree-fruit production, selecting tree-fruit varieties, planting trees, and cultural needs and production methods of small-fruit crops.

The webinar series covers basic information on how to get started and provides resources with more advanced information for participants to continue pursuing goals or hobbies. Topics have included beekeeping, syrup making, vegetable gardening, mushroom production, home food preservation, backyard greenhouses, and other homesteading topics.

Participants must register by 8 p.m. on May 9 to receive the link to access the live webinar. A $5 registration fee accompanies the event. Registrants also will receive access to the webinar recording.
