LEWISTOWN -- During the quarterly Board of Directors meeting, the Mifflin County Industrial Development Corporation, discussed engaging in a strategic planning initiative that guides the organization to initiate or facilitate projects.
Following a robust discussion, an ad hoc strategic planning committee was appointed by Chairwoman Marie Kirkpatrick. The committee will present a draft plan at the next quarterly board meeting in July.
"I am happy to see our Board revisit the mission, purpose, goals and aspirations of the organization and how it can position MCIDC to serve Mifflin County in the most effective and responsible manner," said MCIDC President and CEO Nick Fellice.
"It is measurable goals and objectives that ensure the fiscal health of the organization while targeting opportunities," Kirkpatrick added.
Felice continued, noting that the board would be evaluating the county's current economic heath while moving forward with continued focus on industrial enterprise development.
"Importantly, we will adjust our activities to better serve our communities in a more holistic manner," he said.
The Board also recognized one of its long-term employees who is leaving MCIDC at the end of April.
Executive Assistant Penny Hetrick, who has been with the agency for nearly 15-years is retiring.
