The Sentinel offers nonprofit and other community organizations an opportunity to promote upcoming events for free in the community calendar for three days before the event. Events requiring reservations may be promoted for up to two weeks before the reservation deadline.

Events that require a purchase from a for-profit business, even if a donation is made to the organization, are not eligible for the calendar.

Submit items at least one in advance via email, events@lewistownsentinel.com; call (717) 248-6741; online, Virtual Newsroom at www.lewistownsentinel.com; or mail or drop off, The Sentinel, 352 Sixth St., P.O. Box 588 Lewistown, PA 17044. The editor reserves the right to edit all submissions.

•Mother's Day dinner -- 11 a.m.-2 p.m or until sold out, Sunday, May 12, Milroy Hose Co. No. 1, 190 College Ave., Milroy. Dine-in or takeout. Menu: ham, scalloped potatoes, noodles, corn, dinner roll and dessert. Adults $15. Children 10 and under $7. Call (717) 667-2388 for reservations by May 11.

•Coffee with friends -- 9 a.m.-noon at Lack-Tuscarora EMS, 9320 South Route 75, East Waterford.

•Fraud Bingo -- 10-11:30, Lion's Den, 158 Lion's Den Dr., McAlisterville. Event will inform participants how to protect themselves from identity theft and financial fraud while playing Bingo. There will be prizes and refreshments. Reserve a spot: (570) 837-0052.

•Bingo -- 6 p.m., Beale Township Fire Department. Doors open at 5 p.m.

•Single mom support group -- 6:30-8 p.m., New Life Church Cafe, 101 Beech St., Burnham. Dinner served from 6:30-7 for mothers and children. Child care from 7-8 while mothers meet in a group. More information: call or text (717) 437-4946.

Saturday, April 13

•All-you-can-eat breakfast -- 7-10 a.m., East Salem Community Church, 7398 Route 235, Mifflintown -- between Thompsontown and McAlisterville. Cost is by donation. Meal includes scrambled eggs, pancakes, muffins, sausage, dry beef gravy and toast, orange juice and coffee.

•Fly-in, Drive-in, Walk-in breakfast -- 8-10:30 a.m. at the EAA Club House, Mifflin County Airport Hanger 4. "World Famous Omelet" plus your favorite side dishes. Sponsored by Experimental Aircraft Association, Chapter 518.

•Spring vendor show -- 8 a.m.-2 p.m., Juniata Elementary School, 75 S. 7th St., Mifflintown.

•West Granville Fire Co. chicken barbecue -- chicken halves ready at 10:30 a.m. To reserve, call (717) 248-0665. Located at 8392 Rte. 522 S. in Strodes Mills.

•LHS Class of 1965 luncheon -- 11 a.m., Sal-lee's Dream. Classmates and spouses welcome.

•Keystone State Muscle Cars‚

5-8 p.m., Rec Park.

•Live music -- 7 p.m. at Ellen Chapel Church. "Simple Gifts" will provide live music in a coffee house setting. A variety of music will be played on instruments including fiddle, mandolin, banjo, bowed psaltery, hammered dulcimer and guitar. Everyone is invited to enjoy the music and coffee, iced tea and snacks.

Sunday, April 14

•Lewistown Moose Bingo -- Doors open at 4 p.m. Bingo at 6 p.m. Tickets sold at the door.

•Free movie night --

6:30 p.m., Reedsville United Methodist Church, 82 East Logan Street. Refreshments will be served. The movie is "This is Our Time."
