LEWISTOWN -- A 45-year-old man was incarcerated after police found methamphetamine and crack cocaine in his residence.
Kenneth David Kleinfelter, of Lewistown, was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Craig Weston Sunday on charges of manufacturing with intent to deliver a controlled substance, two counts of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, Mifflin County Regional Police Department were involved with Kleinfelter for a separate incident and had obtained an arrest warrant at 210 Old Stagecoach Road.
At 10:40 a.m. Saturday, officers from Regional and Lewistown Police Department gained a body search warrant for Kleinfelter and while at the residence, noticed drug contraband in plain sight, including a black container which held a white powdery substance and small Ziploc bags, commonly used to package controlled substances for sale.
According to the report, police were granted a search warrant for the residence that afternoon and found a metal measuring cup containing a white residue consistent with crack cocaine on a shelf in the dining room. Police said the measuring cup also had evidence of heating on the bottom, consistent with manufacturing crack cocaine. Also found on the shelf was a film container that held a white, powdery substance which appeared to be baking soda, commonly used to manufacture crack cocaine. A Ziploc bag containing a crystal-like rock substance, consistent with methamphetamine was also found on the shelf. A large quantity of unused Ziploc bags was also found.
Kleinfelter is being held in Mifflin County Correctional Facility, unable to post $50,000 cash bail. He is awaiting a preliminary hearing set for 9 a.m. March 20 in Weston's office.
