The Sentinel offers nonprofit and other community organizations an opportunity to promote upcoming events for free in the community calendar for three days before the event. Events requiring reservations may be promoted for up to two weeks before the reservation deadline.
Events that require a purchase from a for-profit business, even if a donation is made to the organization, are not eligible for the calendar.

•Mifflin County Chapter of Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees luncheon meeting -- noon, Thursday, April 4, Birch Hill Event Center, Burnham. April's meeting is the silent auction to benefit the Mifflin County PASR Chapter's scholarship fund. Bring an auction item. Menu: coleslaw, beef tips in gravy, mashed potatoes, roasted Brussel sprouts, rolls/butter, apple pie. Cost is $14. •Free gardening workshop: Tuesday, April 9 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at Body and Soul Community Center, Strodes Mills. Discussions will be about using compost and maulches in the garden, tips on feeding plants at each stage of growth, planting transplants, planting guides for April and there will be time allotted for sharing transplants.
