Troopers save injured bald eagle

NEWPORT -- Pennsylvania State Police at Newport troopers Alex Ebbert and Emilio Rizzo came to the rescue of a bald eagle on Sunday morning. Around 11 a.m. along Route 33 near the Millerstown exit in Greenwood Township, Perry County, troopers found the bird, which had been struck by a vehicle while feeding and suffered an injured wing.

Ebbert used his cruiser jacket to wrap the bird for secure transport. The troopers met Pennsylvania Game Commission personnel at the state police barracks in Newport, who took the eagle for rehabilitation.
