Two arrested for taking $3K in products from CVS
LEWISTOWN — According to a report issued by the Lewistown Police Department, two individuals stole $3,417.73 worth of cosmetic and facial care products from CVS on Tuesday, Dec. 5 around 2:45 p.m.
The report states that employees from CVS reported two Romanian nationals, a male and a female were the suspects in this incident. These individuals were identified as Leoni Iancy, 33 and Sofia Boboc, 28 who are a part of an organized retail theft group that have stolen from multiple CVS stores across the east coast.
Both Iancy and Boboc have been charged with felony retail theft and receiving stolen property. Lewistown Police Department currently holds arrest warrants for these individuals.
Unlicensed man arrested for fleeing police
LEWISTOWN — Officers from the Lewistown Police Department observed 34-year-old Frank Walker Jr. on Thursday, Feb. 1 around 2:30 p.m. operating a black Hyundai Sedan in the area of West Fourth Street and Pennsylvania Avenue when he did not have a valid driver’s license.
According to the report, officers attempted a traffic stop on the vehicle but Walker sped away, failing to yield to the officer’s emergency flights and siren. Walker was reported as driving recklessly at a high rate of speed, passing a bicyclist before coming to a stop on the 400 block of West Fifth Street.
Walker was taken into custody without incident and held at the Mifflin County Correctional Facility on charges of fleeing and eluding, driving on a suspended license, reckless driving and a stop sign violation.
One treated for injuries in crash
MIDDLEBURG — Pennsylvania State Police at Selinsgrove responded to a vehicle accident on Saturday, Feb. 3 around 9:30 a.m. on Deerfield Road, Middlecreek Township.
According to the report, a 2003 Subaru Forester driven by 61-year-old Julie Reich, of Middleburg, was traveling south on Deerfield Road when Reich undercompensated a right curve, causing her to exit on the left side off the roadway where she proceed to strike a tree, causing disabling damage to the vehicle.
Reich was taken to Geisinger Medical Center for suspected serious injuries. Middlecreek Fire Department, Reliance Hose Co. and Stahl Brothers Towing assisted on the scene. The driver was cited for the incident
Citation filed against woman in dispute
LEWISTOWN — Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown responded to a residence on Terrace Boulevard on Monday, Feb. 5 around 9 p.m. where it was reported that two individuals were engaged in a domestic dispute.
The report states that a 42-year-old woman locked a 52-year-old man out of the residence and would not allow them in. A citation was filed against the female.
Domestic dispute ends in citation
MIFFLIN — Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown responded to a physical dispute on Tuesday, Jan. 23 around 1 a.m. on Parker Street between a 28-year-old woman and 23-year-old man, both of Mifflin. According to the report a citation was filed against the male.
