Live Musical Entertainment
Don and Trace will perform at Iron Ridge Brewing, 9074 Route 522, Lewistown, from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. At 7 p.m. Saturday, John White appears at Hungry Run Wine Bar and Bistro, 10042 Route 522 South, Lewistown.
Fire Department Fundraisers
Stars and Stripes Cornhole of Central Pennsylvania is hosting a Cornhole Tournament Fundraiser for the McVeytown Volunteer Fire Co., 5696 Route 522, McVeytown, on Saturday. Registration and warmups start at 10 a.m. with bags flying at 11 a.m. It will be a blind draw tournament with a guaranteed $1,000 prize pool. Entry fee is $20 per person. Rescue Our Furry Friends and City Hook and Ladder Co. present Raymond, the Amish Comic at 7 p.m. Saturday at the City Fire Co. Social Club, 317 Valley St., Lewistown. Tickets cost $25 and include all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner, comedy show and deejay Jeremy. Dinner will be served at 5 p.m. with DJ from 9 to 11 p.m. Rip tickets and 50/50 raffle also available. Miss Central Pennsylvania Scholarship Competition
The 2024 Miss Central Pennsylvania Scholarship Competition is slated for 4 p.m. Saturday at the Mifflin County Middle School, 2 Manor Drive, Lewistown. See who will advance to compete for the coveted titles of Miss Pennsylvania 2024 and Miss Pennsylvania's Teen 2024. Current Miss Pennsylvania will be the hostess for the event, along with Miss Mid-State's Outstanding Teen Madelyn Sheffel. Yummy Food Fundraisers
A homemade ham and beef pot pie fundraiser will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Stony Run Mission Church Fellowship Hall, 2825 Evendale Hill Road, McAlisterville. Justin Berkheimer, Ashley Berkheimer and Kathryn Peachey will be going on a mission to Ninilchik, Alaska, for painting and remodeling a local church from July 17 to 27 with Central Pennsylvania Youth Ministries. The cost is by donation. Pickups available while supplies last.
Feast at a Benefit Chicken and Waffle Dinner to help local farmer Kelly Spangler with her medical and other expenses from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Christ's United Lutheran Church, 13765 Old Turnpike Road, Millmont. The meal is eat-in or takeout, with the cost by donations. The meal includes chicken and waffles with sides of mashed potatoes and gravy, beets, coleslaw and dessert.
All About Owls
Come out and learn "All About Owls" at Greenwood Furnace State Park, 15795 Greenwood Road, Huntingdon, from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday. Learn about Pennsylvania's night hunters during this free indoor program, with Pennsylvania Game Commission and falconer Will Weyant.
