Mifflin County Drama Club Presents "The Wizard of Oz"
Follow the yellow brick road as the Mifflin County High School Drama Club presents their 2024 musical production of "The Wizard of Oz." The timeless tale, in which young Dorothy Gale travels from Kansas over the rainbow to the magical land of Oz, also celebrates its 85th anniversary on the silver screen. Show dates are Friday and Saturday at 6:30 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m. at MCHS, located at 501 Sixth St., Lewistown. Stone Arch Players Debut "The Tin Woman"
The Stone Arch Players debut "The Tin Woman" at the Theatre at the Park, Kishacoquillas Park, 1 Derry Park Drive, Lewistown, on Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. "The Tin Woman" is the story of a woman who receives a heart transplant and her eventual meeting with the donor's family. Instead of relishing life after the transplant, the woman enters a downward spiral. Based on a true story, "The Tin Woman" uses humor and pathos to explore loss, family and what it means to be given a new lease on life. Tickets cost $12 each. "The Tin Woman" runs through March 10. Heritage Volunteer Fire Co. Band Bash
The lineup at Band Bash 2024 will have Lewistown rocking as seven bands are set to perform on stage, starting at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Lewistown Moose Family Center, 80 Brady Lane, Lewistown. Scheduled to appear are Adam and the Armadillos, Johnny Unit, Kenton Sitch Band, Hillbilly Diesel, Mindspell, Reboot and 3rd Story Dusters. Tickets are $25, with all proceeds benefiting the fire company. They can be purchased at the Lewistown Moose, from any Heritage member or at the door on Saturday. Karaoke, live music and open mic night
Iron Ridge Brewing, 9074 Route 522, Lewistown, will host karaoke with DJ Digital Jeremy from 8 to 11 p.m. Saturday, while Allan Combs II performs at Hungry Run Wine Bar and Bistro, 10042 Route 522 South, Lewistown, at 7 p.m. Saturday. There will also be Open Mic Night at the Juniata River Commons, 2218 William Penn Hwy., Mifflintown, from 6 to 8 p.m. The cover charge is $5. To perform, contact bigtreemusicandart@gmail.com.
