Center to offer excursion to Berks County

LEWISTOWN -- The Centers in Motion have offered bus trips and train rides in the past, which have proven to be wildly popular.
This year, the two modes of transportation have been combined for one exciting day trip.
On Friday, April 5, Center in Motion is offering a bus trip to board the historic Colebrookdale Railroad, based in Boyertown, Berks County. Once onboard, passengers will enjoy a two-hour scenic train excursion through picturesque landscapes.
"We have taken train excursion trips in the past," said Michele Gray, program assistant for senior community services for the Mifflin-Juniata Regional Services Corp. - The Care Network.
"We can take 56 on the train," she added. "Not sure if it will be popular, but we expect a good turnout."
Centers in Motion programming is offered through the Mifflin-Juniata Area Agency on Aging in affiliation with the MJRSC - The Care Network.
The trip is open to adults age 55 and older who live in Mifflin and Juniata Counties. This trip is not wheelchair accessible.
The cost is $80, which includes transportation and lunch. Lunch includes chicken breast, mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables, tossed salad and dessert.
Pick-up times are 8 a.m. at the Lewistown Senior Center, 515 Knepp Ave., Lewistown; and 8:30 a.m. at the 4 Seasons Center, 47 CJEMS Lane, Mifflintown. Return times should be around 5:15 p.m. at 4 Seasons and 5:45 p.m. in Lewistown.
The registration deadline is Friday, March 22. Checks should be made payable to MJ AAA and mailed to MJ AAA, 25 Rothermel Drive, Yeagertown, PA 17099, Attn: Michele Gray.
