BURNHAM -- A Beaver Springs man is charged with stalking after a Derry Township employee found a package with disturbing notes threatening law enforcement at the municipal building.
Jeremy Lamar Rhodes, 45, was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Craig Weston Monday on misdemeanor charges of making terroristic threats and stalking in an attempt to cause fear.
According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, a township employee noticed a package of hand-written material in a plastic grocery bag at the front of the door of the municipal building they were retrieving something from the municipal building. The municipal building houses both Derry Township and the Mifflin County Regional Police.
The report says the package contained multiple notes containing writing of a disturbing nature that involved local officials and law enforcement.
While viewing the content of the package, police said "the writings suggested as being from someone extremely angry or suffering from mental health related issues."
In a spiral-bound notebook, several local individuals were listed by name, including police officers, judges and office staff that Rhodes expressed his anger and frustration toward.
The report says the writings included phrases like "I wish I could kill you all," and "my only request is all cops die." The report says he also references past court hearings
Rhodes is being held in Mifflin County Correctional Facility on $100,000 bail. He is awaiting a preliminary hearing set for 9 a.m. Feb. 28.
