Fraudulent purchase reported to police

MIDDLEBURG -- Pennsylvania State Police at Selinsgrove are investigating a fraudulent credit card purchase of $151.53 from a 20-year-old Walnut Bottom man at about 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 11.

No injuries sustained in crash

MILLERSTOWN -- Pennsylvania State Police at Selinsgrove responded to a vehicle crash at about 7 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 18, on Seven Stars Road, West Perry Township.

According to the report, a 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt driven by an unnamed 16-year-old female, was traveling north on Seven Stars road when the vehicle drifted off the right side of the road. Then the vehicle struck a ditch, damaging the right front bumper.

The driver was wearing her seatbelt and was not injured.

Vehicle strikes electric pole

MIDDLEBURG -- Officers from the Pennsylvania State Police at Selinsgrove responded at 7 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 12, to the report of a one-vehicle crash on Middle Road, Center Township.

The report states that a 2000 Buick LeSabre driven by 20-year-old Evan Sprenkel, was traveling east on Middle Road when Sprenkel lost control and spun off the right side of the roadway. Sprenkel then struck a mailbox and continued into a PPL electric pole. Police said the vehicle spun across the roadway and into a ditch.

Both the electric pole and the Buick sustained damage during the crash. The vehicle was towed from the scene by Stahl Brothers Garage.

Sprenkel was wearing his seatbelt and was not injured during the crash.

Police investigate criminal mischief

MIDDLEBURG -- Pennsylvania State Police at Selinsgrove are investigating a criminal mischief incident that took place at about 12:30 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 1, on Kissimmee Road, Adams Township. This incident involved the vandalization of a 2019 International Coach MFG.

Vehicle disabled in collision with deer

THOMPSONTOWN -- Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown responded at about 7 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 24, to the report of a vehicle crash on state Route 333 Delaware Township.

According to the report, Hanan Mall, 37, of McAlisterville, was traveling westbound on state Route 333, just north of the intersection with Goodville Road in a 2016 Mazda CX3 when a deer ran onto the roadway. Police said the vehicle struck the deer, causing disabling damage.

Mall was wearing his seatbelt and was not injured.

Police investigate corruption case

McALISTERVILLE -- Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown are investigating a corruption of minors incident involving a 36-year-old Cocolamus woman and a 14-year-old Cocolamus teen.

Man jailed for attempted theft

MILROY -- According to a report by Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown, an employee from Rutters, Armagh Township, reported that Kurvin Lindsey, 62, of Lewistown, walked into the store at about 4 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 22, removed a bottle of Barefoot Pink Moscato wine from the shelf and began consuming it. When the employee advised Lindsey that state law did not permit him to be drinking the wine in the store, Lindsey threatened him. Lindsey then fled the store without paying for the wine, valued at $10.99 and was located by officers hiding between vehicles in the rear parking lot of the store.

Lindsey was taken to Mifflin County Correctional Facility where he was arraigned and unable to post bail.

Two cited with harassment

MIFFLINTOWN -- Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown responded to a domestic dispute that turned physical on Wednesday, Jan. 24 on Apartment Drive, Fermanagh Township. Police said the incident involved a 22-year-old female and a 28-year-old male, both of Mifflintown. Citations were filed against both individuals.
