Digital fingerprint services available
LEWISTOWN -- The Mifflin County Library has announced that digital fingerprint services for employment through IdentoGo will now be available at the Mifflin County Courthouse, 20 North Wayne St. in Lewistown, while the library undergoes renovations. Please make appointments at www.identogo.com.
Hours are: Monday 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.; Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Democratic committee to hold petition signing
LEWISTOWN -- The Mifflin County Democratic Committee will hold 2024 Primary Election Democratic candidates' petition signings at the following times: 5:30-7:30 p.m., Jan. 24; 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Jan. 27; noon-4 p.m. Jan. 28; 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Feb. 3 and noon-4 p.m., Feb. 4 at the United Steelworkers Union Hall, 519 Electric Avenue, Lewistown. The 2023 primary election democratic candidates have been invited to participate.
Grant writing workshop held Friday
STATE COLLEGE -- A grant writing workshop will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Friday, Jan. 19 on the second floor of the College Township Council Room, 1481 E. College Ave, State College.
The event is geared toward helping local governments, emergency service organizations, and nonprofits navigate the process of finding funding for their proposals by writing successful state grant applications. Free copies of the Pennsylvania State Grant & Resources directories will be available for attendees.
The event will feature presentations on grant writing and resources from Chris Fetterman, special advisor on Economic Development for the Pennsylvania Democratic House Appropriations Committee, Michelle Merrow, P.E. for Alder Run Engineering LLC, and Fritz Smith, president & CEO of Happy Valley Adventure Bureau.
