Free health screenings offered
LEWISTOWN -- Walmart will offer a Wellness Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
Customers will be able to receive free health screenings for glucose, cholesterol, BMI and blood pressure screenings as well as affordable immunizations like COVID-19, flu, RSV, tetanus, hepatitis and HPV.
Customers can also receive free COVID-19 vaccines and wellness resources.
Volunteers sought for upcoming meat canning
LEWISTOWN -- Organizers of the 2024 meat canning project are seeking volunteers to help grind meat, fill cans and label and box cans.
This year marks 50 years of the project. Organizers hope to can 34,000 pounds of chicken, with 10% of all meat canned staying local.
Canning hours will be 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, Feb. 5-7 and from 6 a.m. to noon Thursday, Feb. 8 at Chief Logan Firehouse, 1800 Glenwood Ave., Lewistown.
