LEWISTOWN -- A Lewistown man was arrested after police said he wandered into a home on South Pine Road, ate the resident's food and fed a young child candy.
Giovanni Vincent Wilson, 21, of Harrisburg, was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Kent Smith Saturday on charges of burglary and criminal trespass.
According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, officers from Lewistown Police Department were called to an apartment on the 100 block of South Pine Road at about 10 p.m. where an individual the tenants did not recognize walked into the apartment and sat down. The witness said they told the man -- identified as Wilson -- to leave and that he was wearing a jacket and had a cast on his foot when he was last seen.
A second witness who was inside the residence at the time told police that they saw Wilson downstairs talking to a child through a pantry and eating food inside the residence. The witness said Wilson "had to be inside for about 10 minutes."
According to the report, there were two children upstairs when the incident occurred and that there was a third downstairs watching television. The second witness said they went downstairs to have a cigarette when they saw Wilson sitting in the chair. The second witness said they saw Wilson feeding the child, a 4-year-old, Mentos, and asked him to leave.
The second witness reportedly asked Wilson to leave and he declined the first time, but then left after they threatened to call the police.
The report states that Wilson filled a cardboard box up with macaroni and cheese, ate all the food off of one of the witness' plates and went through some of the resident's belongings. The report also states that a witness' purse was moved.
When police questioned Wilson, he said he thought the tobacco he smoked two weeks ago was laced. He also stated that he had done meth two days prior.
When asked what would show up in a blood test, Wilson reportedly replied "Benzos and Walmart." He also stated that he believed he was in Liverpool at the time of the incident.
Wilson is being held in Mifflin County Correctional Facility, unable to post $100,000 bail. He is awaiting a preliminary hearing set for 9 a.m. Jan. 10.
