Police respond to hit and run
MOUNT UNION -- Pennsylvania State Police at Huntingdon responded to a hit and run accident that occurred at about midnight on Saturday, Dec. 2, on Extract Road, Shirley Township.
The report states that a vehicle was traveling westbound when it left the roadway striking a mailbox and a pole barn simultaneously before continuing in the west bound direction. The vehicle was unable to be located.
No injuries reported in DUI crash
MIFFLINTOWN -- Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown responded to the report of a single-vehicle crash that took place at about 1 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 22.
The report states that a 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 pick up truck crashed into the front yard of a residence on state Route 35 north, Fermanagh Township, when the unnamed driver lost control and slid into an embankment. It was determined by officers that the driver was under the influence of alcohol and was arrested for suspicion of DUI. No injuries were reported on scene.
No suspects in identity theft
PORT ROYAL -- Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown investigated an identity theft incident at about 10 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 29, when a Port Royal woman had an AT&T account opened using her information. Police said an iPhone was purchased and delivered to her residence. There are currently no leads according to the report.
Man scammed out of gift cards
MIFFLINTOWN -- According to a report issued by Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown, officers investigated a theft incident on Sunday, Oct. 14 through Saturday, Oct 28 when an 18-year-old Mifflintown man was reportedly scammed out of Apple gift cards. Police said payment was allegedly sent through Venmo in the amount of $2,800. There are currently no leads.
