Live nativity slated for Dec. 14-16
MIDDLEBURG -- A live Nativity with music, animals and actors will be held at Middle Creek Farms Dec. 14-16.
Hours will be 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 5-9 p.m. Saturday.
The Nativity is located right off of Route 522, just west of Middleburg, 134 Farmhaus Road, Middleburg.

Coalition for hits conference slated for Dec. 14
MIDDLEBURG -- The Snyder County Coalition for Kids annual conference will be held from 8 to 11:30 a.m. Dec. 14 at Susquehanna University.

This year's conference promises to inform and inspire everyone in our community who has kids or works with kids. Dr. Pat Bruno from the Geisinger Child Advocacy Center will give remarks reflecting on his career evaluating and treating victims of child abuse. Dave Murray from Clarity Prep Youth Mentoring will be speaking on how to help kids approach life "like a champion." Mark Brennan, Ph.D., from Penn State University will present on the legacy of Fred Rogers and how it informs empathy and well-being.
The Snyder County Coalition for Kids is a registered nonprofit organization whose mission is to foster safe and healthy communities for children in Snyder County and beyond. Among other initiatives, the Coalition operates the Meals for Seals and Meals for Mustangs food programs, organizes the annual Snyder County Night Out event, and hosts an annual training conference.
PennDOT to host job fair
BELLEFONTE -- The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation will host a job fair at the Centre County Maintenance office in Bellefonte from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 13.
During the job fair, PennDOT staff will be on hand to answer applicants' questions about the opportunities available, help applicants submit their online applications, and, for select positions, conduct driver's skills tests and on-the-spot interviews with the possibility of making conditional offers.
Prospective employees are encouraged to bring their résumé. Available positions include Roadway Programs Technician, Transportation Equipment Operator A, and Radio Dispatcher. These are opportunities for permanent and temporary employment.
Since there may be on-the-spot interviews and conditional job offers for select positions, bring two forms of identification.
The maintenance building is located at 1000 E. Bishop St., Bellefonte.
