The Sentinel offers nonprofit and other community organizations an opportunity to promote upcoming events for free in the community calendar for three days before the event. Events requiring reservations may be promoted for up to two weeks before the reservation deadline.
Events that require a purchase from a for-profit business, even if a donation is made to the organization, are not eligible for the calendar.

•Santa's Workshop -- Saturday, Dec. 16 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. or until supplies depleted at Milroy United Methodist Church, 91 S. Main St. in Milroy. Children 12 and under. •Book sale -- 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Kish Branch of the Mifflin County Library, 174 N. Penn St., Belleville.
•Christmas bazaar -- 9 a.m.-2 p.m., St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Main St., Milroy.
•Christmas craft show -- 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Windy Hill Church, 22 Windmill Hill, across from the Burnham exit of Rte. 322. Food will be available.
•Cookie walk and bazaar -- 9 a.m.-noon, St. Jude Thaddeus Church, Mifflintown, 3819 William Penn Highway.. Purchase a pre-filled container of homemade Christmas cookies for $12. Sponsored by the Women's Guild of St. Jude Thaddeus Church. Doors open at 8 a.m. Arrive early for a free cup of coffee. Information: (717) 994-0209.
•Christmas concert --3 p.m., Mifflin County High School. Featuring Cantare, flute ensemble, Lewistown Community Band, 8TTb Sisters. Donations will be accepted to benefit high school music programs.
•Christmas music -- 7 p.m., Ellen Chapel Church. Unusual Suspects perform at 7 p.m., Greg Devecchis will perform accordion music at 8:15 p.m. Coffee, iced tea, and snacks will be provided. Event is part of the Ellen Chapel Live Music Series.
Sunday, Dec. 10
•Gordon Fultz Memorial Dinner - 11 a.m.-1 p.m., McClure Volunteer Fire Company. Meal includes ham, mashed potatoes, filling, pineapple filling, vegetables, desserts. Under 5 eat free; ages 6-12, $6; 13 and over, $12. Eat-in and takeout available.
•Free movie night -- 6:30 p.m., Reedsville United Methodist Church, 82 E. Logan St., Reedsville. Refreshments will be served. Movie is "Angels in the snow."
