REEDSVILLE -- A Milroy man was jailed after police said he led them on a chase, then attempted to avoid arrest by entering a residence on Sulphur Springs Farm.
Jeffrey Lee Decker II, 37, was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Jack Miller Friday on charges of burglary, fleeing to elude police, fleeing to avoid arrest, driving with a suspended or revoked license and multiple related traffic offenses.
According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown attempted to pull over Decker's black Dodge Ram after it was recorded traveling 84 mph on U.S. 322 West, about a quarter mile east of Brown Township, a 55 mph zone.
Police said Decker exited U.S. 322 west at the Reedsville exit, took a right hand turn on to state Route 655 then took a left-hand turn onto Teacreek Road.
Police said the vehicle crossed the median and yellow line during the pursuit, hitting speeds of about 107 mph.
The vehicle continued to travel on to the Old U.S. Highway 322 west and took a right turn onto Hill Street. The vehicle then turned left onto North Main Street.
At that point, police said the vehicle turned onto Electric Avenue and crossed Old U.S. Highway 322 west onto East Back Mountain Road.
At that point, police said the vehicle turned left onto Sulphur Springs Farm where Decker took off on foot and entered 75 Sulphur Springs Farm to avoid apprehension.
Police said the resident was able to exit the residence without incident.
Decker is being held in Mifflin County Correctional Facility, unable to post $100,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is set for 9 a.m. Dec. 6 in Miller's office.
