CALVERT COUNTY, Md. - A Calvert County, Md., grand jury handed down a five-count indictment on Monday against a 48-year-old Reedsville man, charged with the murder of a well-known Washington, D.C., area photographer.
Brandon R. Holbrook, 48, was formally charged with killing Joseph A. Shymanski, of Huntingtown, Md. The incident took place in early September, over the Labor Day weekend.
According to court documents, the grand jury charged Holbrook with single counts of murder, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, firearm use in a violent crime and altering physical evidence in a criminal process.
Holbrook's next appearance in court is scheduled for Dec. 4 for an initial appearance/arrangement in Calvert County Circuit Court.
Media outlets reported Holbrook is currently being held at the Calvert County Detention Center.
