Collection for Operation Christmas Child through Nov. 20
BELLEVILLE -- Multiple locations serving area participants are opening to collect shoebox gifts--filled with fun toys, school supplies and personal care items--for Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child. National Collection Week for Operation Christmas Child runs through Nov. 20.
The effort to send God's love to millions of boys and girls around the world through the Samaritan's Purse project ends Monday, Nov. 20. Throughout the project's National Collection Week, area shoebox donors will contribute to the 2023 global goal of reaching 11 million children.
There are six drop-off locations in the Juniata Valley Area (Huntingdon, Mifflin and Juniata Counties). The central drop-off is in Belleville. Other locations include Reedsville, Thompsontown, Mapleton Depot, Huntingdon and Richfield.
Samaritan's Purse is an evangelical Christian humanitarian aid organization that provides aid to people in physical need as a key part of its Christian missionary work.
