MIFFLINTOWN -- East Salem Community Church will offer the opportunity to get into the holiday spirit with some tasty treats this weekend while supporting a good cause at the same time.
An annual Cookie Walk will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the church, 7398 state Route 235, Mifflintown,
Organizers have high hopes for this year's event, which has been active since 2009.
"We expect to have at least 18 types of cookies," said Leah Fronk, a member of the church's serve team, which plans the cookie walk. "There are limits as to how many of one type of cookie you can choose. This is a nice way to try different types of cookies."
The event benefits the church's mission trips and special projects while sharing fun Christmas treats. When you arrive, you purchase a bag for $10, proceed through the walk, and select cookies of your choice (limits apply).
Fronk said homemade soup and sandwiches will be available for takeout. All treats including the soups and sandwiches are made by church members and their families.
