First Bakers UMC to host Bible study
LEWISTOWN -- First Bakers United Methodist Church will host a Bible study every Wednesday at 7 p.m. The church will also host a youth group for individuals under age 18 on the first Thursday of each month, except July.

HHHO Food giveaway in Beavertown
BEAVERTOWN -- The Helping Hands, Helping Others, Inc. food giveaway will be held at 11:00 a.m. on the third Tuesday of the month at Beaver Lutheran Church, Rt. 522 at the west end of Beavertown. You must enter the rear of the church by Gross Rd. across from Boonie's in Beavertown. The road to the rear of the church will be blocked until 11:30 a.m., or until the truck supplying the food giveaway unloads. Once the road to the rear of the church is opened, you will be directed to park your car. You must then line up in front of the pavilion at the end of the parking lot. You will be able to select the foods you want. Volunteers will still not be asking for income limits, but will ask for your name and contact information. You may bring boxes or bags. Divorce Care and Divorce Care for Kids (DC4K)
BELLEVILLE -- Divorce Care for adults and DC4K (Divorce Care for Kids) kicked off on Sept. 11 at New Life Church, 101 N. Beech St. in Burnham and at Locust Grove Church at 3358 W. Main St. in Belleville. The Divorce Care programs runs in conjunction with Divorce Care for Kids (DC4K). In Burnham, parents attending Divorce Care at New Life Church are invited to enroll their children in Divorce Care for Kids (DC4K) there while families attending the Belleville group will enroll their children at Locust Grove. Registration can be done in advance by telephone.
DC4K is a student support group for children ages 5 years -- 12 years whose families are experiencing separation/divorce. At DC4K, kids are engaged in crafts, games, activities, DVD dramas, and music. The program is scheduled to run through Dec. 11, 2023, and will feature small groups.
DC (Divorce Care) for adults is a divorce support group that meets weekly to help adults recover from the pain of separation and divorce. Participants experience a warm, caring environment led by people who care and want to help attendees find healing and wholeness in the midst of their circumstances.

Ladies Craft Day at Paintersville CMA
LEWISTOWN -- Ladies Craft Day will be Saturday, Sept. 30 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Paintersville Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, 3195 Back Maitland Road in Lewistown. Work at a four-foot craft table in the fellowship hall. Crafts include scrap booking, card making, painting, needlework, sewing/quilting, knitting/crocheting, wool applique and more. Optional make-n-take instructed by Judy Haubert. Monetary donations will be accepted for make-n-take supplies. Door prizes will be awarded. A light brunch, lunch and refreshments will be provided. Juniata County Crop 5k Hunger Walk/Run on Sunday, Oct. 8
MIFFLINTOWN - The 51st annual Juniata County Crop 5k Hunger Walk/Run will be held on Sunday, Oct. 8, 2023, at Walker Township Park Lane in Mifflintown. Registration begins at 1:30 p.m. The walk starts at 2 p.m. Merf Radio will provide music. The Juniata County Business and Professional Women along with the Juniata County Dairy Promotion Committee will furnish refreshments. The Crop Hunger Walk benefits Global Ministries through Church World Service, and locally, Juniata County Meals on

Bunkertown Men's Chorus at Barrville Mennonite Church
REEDSVILLE -- The Bunkertown Men's Chorus will perform at the Barrville Mennonite Church on Sunday, Oct. 15 at 6:30 p.m. For many years, men's chorus music was heard regularly throughout Big Valley churches. At times, multiple choruses, the Gap Male Chorus, Penns' Valley Chorus, Alfarata Chorus and the local Big Valley Chorus, all sang together at the same event. The Bunkertown Men's chorus was formed in 1934 and has been continuously singing since that time, with current members from Juniata, Snyder, Perry, Lebanon and Cumberland Counties. March for Life rally in Harrisburg Oct. 16
HARRISBURG -- The PA March for Life rally will be held at the front steps of the State Capitol Building on Monday, Oct. 16, 2023, beginning at 10 a.m. (prayer and praise pre-rally). The rally begins at 11 a.m. followed by the march around the Capitol at noon. This is the first day when both the Pennsylvania House and Senate will be back in session in Harrisburg. Gator Wilderness Camp School awareness dinner scheduled
BELLEVILLE -- Gator Wilderness Camp School's annual awareness dinner will be held at Locust Grove Mennonite Church on Saturday, Oct. 28, 2023, at 6:30 p.m. Gator Wilderness Camp School is a not-for-profit school for boys, ages 10-16 years in southwest Florida. At Gator Wilderness Camp School, boys focus on building relationships, problem solving and learning responsibility. This year's program includes participation by the Cowboys group from Gator Camp. There is no charge for the dinner, but a free offering will be lifted. All donations go directly to Gator Wilderness Camp School.
