Police investigate harassment
McVEYTOWN -- Officers from the Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown investigated an incident between two neighbors around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday on Stayrock Way.
The report states that Terrance Hand, 72, of McVeytown was driving a UTV at a slow rate of speed through a grass alley when he proceeded to swerve in the direction of Robert Lihvarchik, 50, of State College, who had been standing in the alley at the time.
Police reported that this was an attempt to intimidate Lihvarchik, as the two had ongoing arguments over property.
2 vehicles sustain damage in crash
LEWISTOWN -- Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown responded to a two-vehicle accident around 3 p.m. Monday, September 19, at the intersection of Dry Valley Road and Kearns Road.
According to the police report, a 2019 Chevrolet Trax was traveling west on Kearns Road and was entering Dry Valley Road. Upon entrance, the driver of the vehicle failed to yield the right-of-way at the yield sign and struck a 2006 Chevrolet Tahoe, traveling north on Dry Valley Road at a safe speed.
Both vehicles sustained disabling damage and were towed from the scene.
Both drivers of the vehicles reported that they were not injured.
Injury sustained in vehicle crash with tractor-trailer
REEDSVILLE -- Officers from the Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown responded to a two-vehicle crash around 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 19, on Old U.S. Highway 322, just 553 feet east of county line.
According to the police report, a 2001 Peterbilt TT was traveling west in the right lane when a 2013 Toyota Prius approached from the rear and failed to pass safely, striking the Peterbilt at its 6 o'clock position.
The Toyota was traveling at a high rate of speed according to officers. After the Toyota's initial collision with the Peterbilt, the Toyota struck the concrete median and came to its final position of rest facing the opposite direction in the left lane.
The driver of the Toyota was transported to Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital for suspected injuries.
The driver of the Peterbilt was uninjured.
Toyota driver Sandra Dungan, 56, of Lewistown received a citation.
Man charged with criminal mischief
REEDSVILLE -- Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown responded to a report of criminal mischief around 6 a.m. Tuesday, Sept.19, on Honey Creek Road.
The police report states that upon further investigation, troopers discovered that Landis Bishop, 27, of Reedsville, threw a baseball through a window of the residence. Bishop also threw a rock through a vehicle parked at the residence. Bishop received charges through Magisterial District Judge Kent Smith.
No injuries reported in two-vehicle crash
MIFFLINTOWN -- Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown responded to a crash that occurred around 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 18, on U.S. Highway 322 West at its entrance ramp with Arch Rock.
The report issued by police states that a 2017 Peterbilt 367 was traveling west and was entering US Highway 322 West from the Arch Rock Road entrance ramp when a 2021 Toyota Corolla was traveling west on US Highway 322 West. The driver of the Peterbilt didn't see the Toyota in the blind spot and struck the vehicle in its 3 o'clock position.
Both vehicles pulled off the roadway where they determined the vehicles sustained minor damage and were driven from the scene. No injuries were reported.
Suspected injury sustained in two-vehicle crash
MIFFLINTOWN -- Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown responded to a two-vehicle accident around 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 7, on William Penn Highway.
The report states that a 2010 Dodge Caravan was traveling westbound on William Penn Highway when the vehicle entered the central turning lane to make a left hand turn.
A 2007 Yamaha YZF-R6 was traveling eastbound on William Penn Highway when the Caravan started turning left and struck the Yamaha in the left lane.
Both vehicles sustained disabling damage as a result. The driver of the Caravan was uninjured, however the driver of the Yamaha was transported to Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital for a suspected serious injury.
Police investigating assault of juvenile female
THOMPSONTOWN -- Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown received a report of a possible physical assault from Friday, Sept. 2 through Thursday, Sept. 7 on Route 235.
According to the police report, officers are still investigating a physical assault involving an adult male and a 13-year-old female.
Huntingdon man charged for possession
McVEYTOWN -- Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown conducted a sobriety checkpoint around 10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 25, on U.S. Highway 522 South when a 2019 Dodge Chrysler entered the checkpoint.
According to the report, Michael Earnest, 37, of Huntingdon was found to be in possession of a large amount of cannabis.
Earnest received charges through Magisterial District Judge Kent Smith.
